The start was delayed when MACAU (App R Shafiq) had to be resaddled
behind the barrier.
STAR BALLAD (M Zaki) was unable to be loaded. To avoid unnecessary
delay, the Race Meeting Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 1323Hrs. STAR
BALLAD must requalify in an Official Race Trial prior to being entered to race
again and a starting stall test prior to being declared to race again in terms
of MRA Rule 78(2).
As the start was effected, PLAY ON (O Placais) reared and lost considerable
ground. Subsequent to the race, after reviewing the films and prior to the
All Clear being given, the Stewards were of the opinion that PLAY ON was
not denied a fair start and PLAY ON was declared a runner.
FOCUS (I Saifudin) began awkwardly and lost ground.
LUCKY MORE LUCKY (S Anandan) and BRILLIANT RULER (E Aslam) both
raced wide without cover throughout.
Making the turn into the straight, BRILLIANT RULER was inconvenienced and
carried wider when GOLDEN TREE (App S Noh) shifted outwards. App Noh
was subsequently shown the film of the incident and warned to exercise
greater care when shifting ground in future.
MACAU was unable to improve when held up making the turn into the
MACAU then raced greenly over the final 400m.
GOLDEN TREE and BRILLIANT RULER bumped on a number of occasions in
PLAY ON, which reared at the start and raced poorly, will be required to pass
a 1000m gallop trial from the barrier and a veterinary examination prior to
being declared to race again.
Jockey V Sivan, the rider of VIENTO, reported that his horse was not striding
out freely. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent
abnormality. VIENTO, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m

App Noh, the rider of GOLDEN TREE, reported that his horse was not striding
out freely. GOLDEN TREE was impounded for routine veterinary and
analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent
