LIM'S REVENT
Rider was questioned regarding his tactics particularly inside the final 600m of the race where the Stewards had concerns with the number of decisions which Jockey See had made during that part of the race. He explained that he was unable to improve his position passing the 500m as there was insufficient room inside of CLARTON TREASURE until it shifted outwards rounding the hometurn when he was then able to ride his mount along. He further explained that he made a decision to shift inwards approaching the 300m in an attempt to obtain a clear run, however D'GREAT BOSS which he was trailing also shifted inwards, resulting in his mount being further held up. He then added that when his mount commenced to make ground inside the 200m, he made the decision to shift outwards inside the 150m as there was insufficient room to improve between the running rail and DASH which had shifted inwards slightly under pressure. He considered that in hindsight, he should have maintained his position. In all the circumstances, the Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by Jockey See, however, indicated to him the Stewards' concern when endeavouring to take inside runs where the chances of gaining clear running was limited. Trainer S Burridge explained that he expected the gelding to get back over the shorter distance with the Blinkers also being removed today. He added that the reason for the seventy seven day (77) break of racing was that the gelding had pulled up its last start when not striding out freely. Trainer Burridge was advised that going forward that his horses placed in races and his instructions given, are such that no room is left for query.
A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.

G Boss, the rider of YABADABADOO, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that near the 700m, he permitted his mount to shift inwards, when insufficiently clear of REFRESH (R Woodworth), resulting in that horse having to be checked. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea and the degree of interference and carelessness. Jockey Boss was suspended from riding in races with effect from Monday, 07 January 2019 to Sunday, 13 January 2019 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.
