SONNY BILL which was up 29kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
DROGBA (HK Cheng) was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was passed fit to start.
DROGBA was slow to begin.
RAJA MAHKOTA (S Anandan) jumped away awkwardly.
HORSE WARRIOR (M Yusri) was slow into stride.
GREEN MISSILE (J Chuah) shifted in racing to the 1100M, resulting in BIG BIT COIN (M Zairi) shifting away from that gelding and as a consequence, THE DODGER (Lou Ho) had to be steadied and lost its position. Jockeys J Chuah and M Zairi were both shown the vision of the incident and were both advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.
VICTORY CAT (J Low) shifted out approaching the 800M and bumped THE DODGER and was forced wider from the 700M until entering the straight.
SUPER HARD (S Sandana) had to be steadied to avoid the heels of GREEN MISSILE racing to the 100M, when GREEN MISSILE was racing very greenly and made several awkward strides.
JOYFUL (App CK Khaw) was unable to obtain a clear running for the last 50M when being held up behind STIRLING (SS Vanan) and SUPER HARD.
Jockey HK Cheng and App KC Wong, the riders of DROGBA and COMMON SENSE respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examination of DROGBA revealed that the gelding had returned lame off ore and as such, DROGBA will be required to pass a test (1000M & vet exam) before being declared to race again.
Post-race veterinary examinations of GREEN MISSILE and VICTORY CAT revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that BIG BIT COIN had bled and as such, the gelding will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a Bleeder's test before being declared to race again.
The Panel of Stewards questioned Trainer S Cook, the trainer of COMMON SENSE as to the gelding's performance today. App KC Wong, the rider of COMMON SENSE reported to him that during the race, he did not feel comfortable in its actions and he could offer no tangible explanation. A post-race veterinary examination of COMMON SENSE revealed no obvious abnormality. Trainer S Cook was advised that if he finds something amiss with the gelding during the week, he must report back to the Panel of Stewards.
