MILITARY ALLIANCE
Bumped on jumping. Raced wide throughout.
THREE LIONS
Acting on veterinary advice that the horse was found to lame off-fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 2055Hrs. In terms of MRA Regulation 24.2, it must be presented to an Official Veterinary Surgeon prior to being declared to race again.
CHAIRMAN WIND
A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.
KASHAN
Jumped away awkwardly and was then crowded when bumped onto MILITARY ALLIANCE by DARCI'S BOY, which shifted outwards. As a result, lost ground.
SILENT ARROW
The Farrier reported that the horse returned having cast its off-fore plate.
SPUR ME ON
-
PERFECT GIRL
Course Scratching - lame near-hind; veterinary certificate required.
SUGARTIME JAZZ
Bumped near the 300m.
BAYMAX
-
DARCI'S BOY
Shifted outwards shortly after start, making contact with KASHAN.
Trainer B Marsh, when questioned regarding the apparent improved performance, stated that since the gelding's most recent start, it had trained on well. He added that DARCI'S BOY was suited having drawn a middle barrier and with the slow early pace, it was able to take up a forward position, and, in his opinion, the longer distance of today's race was more suitable. Adding that the afore-mentioned reasons may have contributed to its improved performance. His explanation was noted.
POWERFUL AS WIND
Near the 1300m, steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of SUGARTIME JAZZ. Made contact with SUGARTIME JAZZ when attempting a narrow run near the 300m.
HEPHAESTUS
As the start was effected, became restless. Subsequent to the race, after reviewing the films and prior to the `All Clear¿ being given, the Stewards were of the opinion that HEPHAESTUS became restless and even though it was momentarily held by its Handler, it was not prevented from jumping and as such, the Stewards were of the opinion that HEPHAESTUS was not denied a fair start and HEPHAESTUS was declared a runner.
