RACE 7 (R363) CLASS 5 1200M
MR JAI, a course scratching as it was bruised near fore fetlock, will be required to pass a
veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
WASHINGTON BAY which was down 24kgs in body weight since its last run, was
checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
At the start, LUCK ALOT (App KC Wong) and WASHINGTON BAY (M Yusri) were
slow to begin.
RANGITAIKI (HK Cheng) jumped awkwardly at the start and shortly after the start, lost
some ground when tightened between ZENIDEKKA (C Goon) and SOUTH EMPEROR
(App Z Khairil).
RANGITAIKI was pulling and was difficult to settle in the back straight.
At about the 100M, JUST NAME IT (App SU Lim) drifted inwards away from the whip
and made contact with DELTA WING (Lou Ho) on 2 occasions. An Objection was
lodged by Jockey Lou Ho, the rider of DELTA WING, placed second, against JUST
NAME IT (App SU Lim), being declared the winner, on the grounds of alleged
interference inside the final 100M. After considering all the evidence, the Racing
Stewards were of the opinion that the alleged interference had not affected the results of
the race bearing in mind also the winning margin of 1¾ lengths. As such, the Objection
was overruled and the results stood. As App SU Lim left the course, an Inquiry into the
incident at about the 100M was adjourned to a date to be fixed.
A post-race veterinary examination of ZENIDEKKA revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Veterinary Surgeon reported that RANGITAIKI returned lame off fore and as such,
will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again. The
gelding was Impounded for further veterinary and analytical examination.
App Z Khairil was stood down by the Club Medical Officer after the running of this race
