Jockey Beasley, when questioned regarding the run of LIMS ROYAL, stated
that after jumping from a wide barrier, he was caught wide in the early
stages. Thereafter, as a result of him attempting to find position closer to the
rail, found himself racing further back than expected. He further stated that,
the gelding had a tendency to race greenly throughout and it was its first
start on the turf track. In addition, he stated that LIMS ROYAL, took a while
to respond when put under pressure in the straight and had a tendency to
lay inwards, which placed himself at a disadvantage. He also stated that he
looked to its outside as he was trying to get the gelding to the outside of
POMP near the 150m. However, POMP rolled outwards and LIMS ROYAL
continued to be difficult to ride out with it laying inwards significantly. His
explanation was noted.
Jockey Boss, when questioned regarding the run of LIMS RIPPLE, stated that
after being initially crowded at the start, he settled in a rearward position and
the gelding travelled well in the early and middle stages . He commenced to
ride the gelding along approaching the turn into the straight, however, after
initially commencing to impove, the gelding appeared to lose his galloping
action and race greenly whilst making the turn. Thereafter after being
balanced up and ridden along in the straight, the gelding ran on well making
up good ground. He further stated, that whilst making ground quickly over
the concluding stages, he had to ease his mount as he became concerned he
may run up onto the heels of runners in front. His explanation was noted. A
subsequent veterinary examination was requested on LIMS RIPPLE which
revealed no apparent abnormality.
