(ONLY APPRENTICES ALLOWANCES PERMITTED)
DROUGHT which was up 18kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the
Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
RUFFLE THE RUFFIAN (J Shankar) jumped away awkwardly and was slow into stride.
Racing to the 1000M, App Z Khairil, the rider of DROUGHT, was hit twice by clods of
mud, became unsighted and had to pull the gelding up and in doing so, shifted outwards
and hampered RUFFLE THE RUFFIAN and AWAKENED (J Low). The Club Medical
Officer reported that App Z Khairil had suffered face injuries and was taken to hospital
for observation. App Z Khairil was exempted from weighing in.
Racing to the 500M, WINDCHASER (App S Shafrizal) had to be steadied to avoid the
heels of MOGANS PET (M Ganeesh).
Racing to the 400M, THE THINKER (C Goon) had to be steadied to avoid the heels of
the runners in front.
Racing to the 300M, MOGANS PET had to be steadied and shifted outwards around the
heels of PROFESSOR X (App S Rosmizan) to obtain a clear run.
The Stewards will question Trainer HS Lim into the improved performance of
MOGANS PET at a date to be fixed.
Jockey M Ganeesh, the rider of MOGANS PET was fined RM500/- under MRA Rule
44(12) for making a celebrity gesture prior to the Winning Post.
Jockey S Salee, the rider of ALFRAAJ, reported that his mount was not striding out
freely. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.
App S Shafrizal, the rider of WINDCHASER, reported that his mount did not handle the
going.
Post-race veterinary examinations of THE THINKER, DROUGHT and RUFFLE THE
RUFFIAN revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 8 (R1564) CLASS 5 -1100M, SATURDAY, 17TH DECEMBER 2016,
1ST DAY, PENANG DECEMBER YANG DI-PERTUA NEGERI GOLD CUP
MEETING 2016
The Stewards opened an Inquiry into the incident at about the 1000M where LEES
SURPRISE (SS Vanan) shifted in, resulting in MOONBEAM DAZZLER (J Low) being
tightened for room and shifted in onto LIGHTNING QUEEN (App M Sathiaa) which in
turn shifted in and made contact with EYE FOUR GET (App CK Khaw). The Stewards
showed Jockey SS Vanan (LEES SURPRISE) the vision of the race and advised him
that in future, he must make a greater effort to keep his mount straight.
PRTC TRACKWORK TUESDAY, 20TH DECEMBER 2016
STR Magendran a/l Gunasilan (STR 100) was fined RM200/- under MRA Rule 152(5)(b)
for disobeying the orders of the Stewards and failing to adhere to the Perak Turf Club
Trackwork Regulations on Tuesday 20/12/2016 @ 8.00 am whilst riding DROGBA
(R91) by riding slow work on the sand track which was designated for fast work only .
