HAPPY AMIGO, a course scratching as it had sustained a stone bruise off hind foot,
will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
FLAMING FIREHEART and HACKER, which were up 23kgs and 31kgs respectively
in body weight since their last runs, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior
to the race and were passed fit to start.
Racing to the 1000M, DARK EXPRESS (M Yusri) had to be steadied when racing
tight between DYNAMIC TRIO (M Zairi) and MONEY NOT ENOUGH (App CT
FLAMING FIREHEART (C Goon) had to be steadied and shifted out across the heels
of ZAC GALLANT (S Salee) at about the 250M.
Jockey S Salee, the rider of ZAC GALLANT, reported that his mount was not striding
out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of ZAC GALLANT revealed no
obvious abnormality but returned having cast its near hind plate.
Jockey M Yusri, the rider of DARK EXPRESS, reported that his mount was making
respiratory noises. A post-race veterinary examination of DARK EXPRESS revealed
no obvious abnormality.
Post-race veterinary examinations of FLAMING FIREHEART, BLACK AHEAD (S
Sandana), and LEES MELODY (SS Vanan) revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Stewards questioned Jockey C Goon, the rider of FLAMING FIREHEART, as to
that geldings performance. He stated that he did not think the horse acted in the going,
that it was having its first start in Malaysia and that his instructions were to ride where
the gelding settled. Jockey C Goon further stated that from the wide barrier,
FLAMING FIREHEART showed no early speed and failed to respond to his riding.
