RACE 1 (R989) CLASS 5 1800M (sc) BOXING HANDICAP
PERAK AUGUST MEETING, SATURDAY, 6th AUGUST 2016

The Stewards on Thursday, 15th September 2016 inquired into Jockey J Shankars ride on
KING FAALCON in the above race and why it was well back racing to the 800M.
Jockey J Shankar stated that Trainer Lawson Moys instructions were to let the gelding
settle, as it usually raced back in the field. He further stated that he rode KING
FAALCON early and at the 800M, used the whip, but the gelding was not traveling well
and did not respond and got back when the pace quickened. He also stated that he
commenced to ride forward from the 500M and that KING FAALCON again failed to
respond to his riding and laid in in the straight and as a consequence, had to be steadied at
about the 300M.
The Stewards advised Jockey J Shankar to ride in a manner which leave no room for
query and noted his explanations.
