RACE 1 (R843) CLASS 5 1200M (SHORT COURSE A)
The girth on IKTO (App R Fakruddin) had to be readjusted behind the barriers.
As the start was effected, BULL AND BEAR (App A Thamil) lashed out whilst in the
barriers and as a result, was very slow to begin, unbalancing its rider.
Upon jumping, GLORY STAR (J De Souza) jumped inwards and bumped MAN OF THE
WORLD (A Nawawi) which was taken in and made contact with LIGHTING QUEEN
(App SU Lim).
MAN OF THE WORLD, THUNDER KING (J Shankar) and SAGARS EXPRESS (App
KC Tham) were all caught wide in the early and middle stage.
MAN OF THE WORLD made the turn at the 500M wide.
Approaching the 400M, SAGARS EXPRESS was momentarily held up for a run on the
heels of THUNDER KING, then shifted outwards to gain clear running and ran home
Approaching the 300M, SHINING SUPREME (App S Shafrizal) had a tendency to lay in

Over the concluding stages of the event, GLORY STAR shifted out and bumped
Upon returning to scales, App S Shafrizal, the rider of SHINING SUPREME, reported that
his mount had a tendency to lay in and as a result, his saddle slipped sideways slightly,
placing him at a disadvantage.
The Stewards questioned App KC Tham, in the presence of Trainer BT Lim, into the
riding tactics that were adopted on SAGARS EXPRESS in todays event. App KC Tham
explained that SAGARS EXPRESS had no early pace despite his efforts of urging him
forward and found himself towards the rear of the field. The gelding was unable to gain a
clear run until the 250M and ran home strongly. He further explained that it may be
looking for further distance than 1200M.
Trainer BT Lim advised the Stewards that SAGARS EXPRESS may not be an apprentice
horse and in future, he will be engaging a more senior jockey on the gelding. The Stewards
noted their comments for future reference.
