RACE 8 (R441) CLASS 5  1600M (LONG COURSE A)

Upon jumping, DYNAMIC TRIO (R Olechea) shifted outwards and inconvenienced NIGHT
DEMON (App AK Lim).

RUNFORIT (S Sandana) raced wide over the final 1000M.

CALLMESOON (App WK Lee) was held up for a clear run entering the front straight, and
failed to get a clear run inside the 400M and ran home well.

Approaching the 200M mark, NIGHT DEMON (App AK Lim) was held up for a clear run to
the inside of DYNAMIC TRIO (R Olechea) and had a tendency to lay inwards and had to
momentarily ease out over that geldings heels to gain clear running.

The Stewards adjourned an inquiry into the reasons why App S Shafrizal, the rider of
ELEVEN UP, was dislodged at approximately the 1200M at a date to be fixed. App S
Shafrizal was exempted from weighing in and was subsequently sent to hospital for further
observation.


GENERAL REPORT(S) - SLTC

TUESDAY, 22 MARCH 2016, SLTC OFFICIAL BARRIER TRIAL/TEST

TURBO returned having bled after the above trial/test and in terms of MRA Rule 92(3), it will
not be permitted to canter or gallop on the main training tracks of any racecourse for a period
of 2 months, and be entered for a bleeders test for a period of 3 months, and start in any race
for a period of 3 months after such declaration, and then only after passing the bleeders test.

and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.

GENERAL REPORT(S)  PNTC / PRTC

URINE SAMPLE (NO. J-6124) TAKEN FROM SENIOR TRACK RIDER
RAGUNATHAN A/L PALANI (SNR TR 52) ON 10 MARCH 2016 WHICH, UPON
ANALYSIS, REVEALED THE PRESENCE OF 9-TETRAHYDROCANNABINOL-
CARBOXYLIC ACID (CANNABIS METABOLITE), A PROHIBITED SUBSTANCE
IN TERMS OF THE MRA RULES

The Stewards today (31st March 2016) concluded an Inquiry into the above matter at the
Penang Turf Club. Evidence was taken from Associate Prof. Dr. Tan Soo Choon, Chief
Analyst, USAINS BIOMICS and Senior Track Rider Ragunathan a/l Palani (Snr Tr 52) who
was assisted by his employer, Trainer HS Lim.

Senior Track Rider Ragunathan a/l Palani pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule
136.4(b) in that on Thursday, 10th March 2016, a urine sample (No. J-6124) taken from him
for analysis revealed the presence of 9-Tetrahydrocannabinol-carboxylic acid (Cannabis
Metabolite), a prohibited substance in terms of the MRA Rules.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Senior Track Rider
Ragunathan a/l Palanis clean disciplinary record, his forthright evidence and mitigating
circumstances. He was suspended from riding trackwork for a period of eight (8) months with
immediate effect (Thursday, 31st March 2016) and to expire on 30th November 2016, both
dates inclusive. He was further warned that periodic samples will be taken from him for
analysis and should he be found to have taken prohibited substances, sterner action will be
taken against him. He was advised of his Right of Appeal (11.50 am).
