RACE 4 (R445) 3YO SPECIAL STAKES 1200M (SHORT COURSE A)
Due to the Handicappers error, the weight on TILSWORTH MALI (M Ganeesh) was
incorrectly given out as 56.5kgs when in fact it should be 53.5kgs. The Stewards, acting on the
provisions of MRA Rule 9(1), amended the weight, informed all connections and a public
announcement was made to that effect. The Stewards granted permission for Jockey M
Ganeesh to ride 1kg over his newly declared weight, 54.5kgs due to this error.
The start of this race was delayed when WONDERFUL SURPRISE (App WK Lee) proved
difficult to be loaded into the barriers. Trainer MP Thwaites will be advised that the Stewards
placed a warning on this horse and he must improve its barrier manners, or action may be
taken against the gelding.

Following the running of the event, Jockeys J Low and J De Souza, the riders BABY BRUCE
and DGREAT ERA respectively, reported that their horses raced greenly.
App WK Lee who rode his 10th winner on WONDERFUL SURPRISE in this race, would only
be entitled to claim 3kgs allowance as from Monday, 4 April 2016.
The Stewards questioned App AK Lim, in the presence of his Master, Trainer WC Lim, as to
the racing tactics that were adopted on the favourite, JERAM VILLAGE. Trainer WC Lim
informed the Stewards that he was disappointed with the run as the gelding had worked well
throughout the week and expected a forward showing in todays event. Trainer WC Lim
further explained that he believed that the 59kgs may have contributed to the disappointing
performance, and believed that JERAM VILLAGE stood in the barrier for too long due to the
delay and this may have contributed to the disappointing performance. App AK Lim agreed
with his Trainers comments. The Stewards noted their comments for future reference.
