At the conclusion of an Inquiry today (7th May 2016) at the Penang Turf Club into the
riding and handling of DAWN PROSPECT in the above race, evidence was taken from
Jockey M Yusri (DAWN PROSPECT), who was assisted by Trainer Nor Azman, the

of the charge were that after having a fairly slow start, Jockey M Yusri did not make
enough effort to make up the lost ground in the back straight and on entering the home
straight and in the home straight, he failed to ride DAWN PROSPECT with sufficient
vigour and determination to the finish.
When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account the facts of this case and
Jockey M Yusris clean riding record. Jockey M Yusri was suspended from riding in
races for a period of two (2) months with effect from Sunday, 8th May 2016 and to expire

Sandana and Trainer T Asogan, the rider and the trainer of FAIRBORN respectively and
reviewing the video replays, the Stewards advised Jockey S Sandana that they were not
entirely happy with his ride on FAIRBORN, in particular that he lost his position on the
first turn despite having the advantage of an inside barrier draw, and thereafter he
covered extra ground from the 800M to the 400M mark when he was caught racing three
wide. The Stewards were however prepared to give Jockey S Sandana the benefit of the
doubt and he was warned that in future, he would be required to ride his horses in such a
