COTE DE NUITS (M Nunes) was fractious and dived under the barrier, resulting in its rider being dislodged. It then galloped riderless for some distance. To avoid unnecessary delay, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 1353Hrs. In view of its previous history, it will be required to pass two consecutive starting stall tests prior to being declared to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2). COLONEL LINCOLN (J Powell) was slow to begin. MUSCULAR SPRINTER (O Placais), which was slow to begin, showed no early pace despite the urgings of its rider. Shortly after the start, ELISE which laid outwards, had to be eased off the heels of RUM N RAISINS (O Chavez), which shifted inwards abruptly. ELISE raced wide from the 600m. Shortly after passing the 400m, RUM N RAISINS and LETS TALK NOW (G Mosse) bumped for a couple of strides. Jockey D David reported that SILVER POWER was making respiratory noises. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the gelding returned not striding out freely. A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on RUM N RAISINS which revealed no apparent abnormality.
