RACE 3 [TF1412]
CLASS 4 POLYTRACK 1000M
Acting on veterinary advice that ICONNIC (S Sam) was found to be lame
near-fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 1147Hrs. In
terms of MRA Regulation 24.2, it must be presented to an Official Veterinary
Surgeon prior to being declared to race again.
Due to transport difficulties, App Z Zuriman, the rider of MINGS MAN, failed
to arrive on course by the prescribed time. As such, permission was given
for App CC Wong to replace App Zuriman on MINGS MAN.
After arriving at the barrier, SMART SUPREME (M Nunes) had its saddle

bumped shortly after the start by SMART SUPREME, which jumped
HIKO YUNIKON (App WS Chan) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped
STOCK BROKER (App K Toh).
Shortly after the start, RED DAWN (M Kellady) was inconvenienced by LIVELY
DRAGON (O Placais), which shifted inwards.
Approximately 50m after the start, MINGS MAN had to be steadied when
crowded between RED DAWN and SMART SUPREME, which laid inwards.
Approaching the 600m, HIKO YUNIKON had to be eased to avoid the heels of
MAIDANZ BEAUTY (V Duric), which laid outwards when making the turn.
Passing the 400m, RED GENERAL eased off the heels of SMART SUPREME,
which shifted inwards. Jockey Nunes was subsequently shown the film of the
incident and warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

that after beginning awkwardly and losing ground, the gelding settled further
back than anticipated, He added that due to the slow pace in the early stages,
he allowed his mount to take up a forward position. He further added that after
being obliged to race wide throughout, his mount failed to respond to his riding
from the 500m and tired noticeably after striking some interference in the
homestraight. His explanation was noted. RED GENERAL was impounded for
routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary Surgeon
reported that the gelding returned not striding out freely.
A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on SMART SUPREME
which revealed that the horse returned having bled. In terms of MRA Rule
92(5), it will not be permitted to canter or gallop on the main training tracks
of any racecourse for a period of five months, and may not start in any race
