RACE 11 [TF0263]
CLASS 4 LC (A) 1400M
QUEENS SEVEN (K Fujii) jumped away extremely awkwardly.
KING OPERA (I Saifudin) and THE DODGER (V Duric) bumped on jumping.
FELAROF (D Beasley) which was slightly slow to begin was inconvenienced
shortly after the start when ASPEN (O Chavez) was bumped inwards by HOT
GOLD (App MM Firdaus).
KING SAVINSKY (App CK Ng) was difficult to settle in the early stages.
HOT GOLD raced wide throughout.
Near the 300m, HOT GOLD checked when racing to the inside of FELAROF
and ASPREY (A Munro). An Inquiry into this incident will be held at a date to
Approaching the 200m, SPLENDOR (KB Soo) laid inwards and became
awkwardly placed on the heels of SUN EMPIRE (R Woodworth).
An Objection was lodged by Jockey D Beasley, the rider of second
placegetter, FELAROF, against ASPREY (A Munro), being the first placegetter,
on the grounds of interference near the 300m. After deliberation and
considering all of the evidence, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion
that near the 300m, ASPREY carried FELAROF inwards resulting in that
gelding bumping HOT GOLD and losing ground. ASPREY then continued to
shift into the running of FELAROF, resulting in FELAROF having to be eased
and taken outwards to obtain clear running.
After considering all of the evidence and after deliberation, the Panel Of
Stewards were of the opinion that taking into account the alleged
interference and the manner in which both horses finished off the race the
alleged inteference had affected the result of the race and the Objection was
upheld. The result was amended to read:
1ST - FELAROF
2ND - ASPREY
3RD - THE DODGER
4TH - SPLENDOR
5TH - ASPEN
6TH - SUN EMPIRE
A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on SUN EMPIRE which
revealed no apparent abnormality.
