RACE 9 (R655) Class 5 1100M (Short Course B), SATURDAY, 23 MAY 2015,
SELANGOR TURF CLUB MAY MEETING 2015

The Stewards, on 30 May 2015 at the Selangor Turf Club, questioned Jockey S Salee into the
tactics that were adopted on PRERICH in particular from the 400M when he failed to take a
run to the outside of DYNAMIC TRIO (App P Deneskumar) at this point.

Jockey S Salee explained that when attempting to take the run, DYNAMIC TRIO shifted
outwards when ACE (Y Aify) forced it wider on the track and as a result, had to be eased and
had no choice, at this point, other than to take the inside run.

The Stewards concurred with Jockey S Salees explanation, however, reminded him of his
obligation to ensure that he attempts to take a run when they presented themselves.

SATURDAY, 30 MAY 2015, SELANGOR TURF CLUB MAY MEETING 2015

Prior to the running of todays meeting, the Stewards questioned Trainer F Maynard into the
reasons why he ticked every box of the Trainers Instruction Form as this was not a standard
procedure.

Trainer F Maynard explained that he ticked every box because he wanted his horses to be
ridden where they are comfortable. The Stewards informed him in the strongest term that he
should ensure that he obliges to the Trainers Instruction Form standard procedure, failing this
action may be taken against him. Trainer F Maynard subsequently resubmitted his Trainers
Instruction Form. His comments were noted for future reference.

SATURDAY, 30 MAY 2015, SELANGOR TURF CLUB MAY MEETING 2015

Trainers A Scott and T Jackman were both advised that in future they should lodge their
Trainers Instruction Forms prior to the running of the first race as per procedure, failing this
action may be taken against them.

RACE 6 (R652) Metro A 1700M (Long Course B), SATURDAY, 23 MAY 2015,
SELANGOR TURF CLUB MAY MEETING 2015

The Stewards, on 26 May 2015 at the Selangor Turf Club, concluded an inquiry into the
tactics that were adopted on GHOST EMPEROR in particular why he failed to improve his
position from the 1000M to the 500M. Evidence was taken from Jockey HS Gill, the rider of
GHOST EMPEROR, and Trainer BT Lim, the Trainer of GHOST EMPEROR.

Jockey HS Gill stated that he was riding to instructions to be midfield and settle the horse
where he was comfortable as the case in previous winning starts and to move wider in the
straight to gain clear running as previously. He further stated that in the home straight, he was
unable to move wider as he had SISTER IN LAW (J De Souza) racing tight on his outside
which was detrimental to his chances. Trainer BT Lim fully agreed with his Jockeys
explanation and reiterated that GHOST EMPEROR needed clear racing room in the run to the
finish as previous winning performances.

The Stewards, after viewing the official patrol films and considering the evidence tendered and
acting on their own observations, took no further action and noted their comments for future
reference.

RACE 6 (R652) Metro A 1700M (Long Course B), SATURDAY, 23 MAY 2015,
SELANGOR TURF CLUB MAY MEETING 2015

The Stewards, on 26 May 2015 at the Selangor Turf Club, questioned App P Haris, the rider of
RAFAGA, in the presence of his Master, Trainer BT Lim who is also the Trainer of
RAFAGA, into the reasons why he restrained RAFAGA when in a favourable position behind
the leaders.

App P Haris explained he was riding to instructions to be midfield and restrained leaving the
1000M to achieve this. Trainer BT Lim agreed with his apprentices explanation, however,
believed he may have overdone it given his limited race riding experience.

The Stewards acting on their own observations, did not taken any action on this occasion but
advised App P Haris that he should have used more initiative than what he did on this occasion
and will be discussed at the SLTC Jockey Academy.

RACE 5 (R651) Metro D 1800M (Long Course B), SATURDAY, 23 MAY 2015,
SELANGOR TURF CLUB MAY MEETING 2015

The Stewards, on 26 May 2015 at the Selangor Turf Club, questioned Jockey Lou Ho, the
rider of KIM ABILITY, into the reasons why he failed to ride his horse to the handy position
as per the Trainers Instruction Form.

Jockey Lou Ho advised the Stewards that prior to riding KIM ABILITY, he advised Trainer M
Sukri that he would be better attempting to get a midfield position as he had done previously
winning on the gelding. This was confirmed with Trainer M Sukri who was informed that he
should have informed the Stewards of the change of riding tactics. Jockey Lou Ho further
stated that the big weight of 57kgs may have not helped its chances.

The Stewards took no action against either party, however, reminded them in the strongest
terms of their obligations and noted their comments for future reference.

RACE 9 (R655) Class 5 1100M (Short Course B), SATURDAY, 23 MAY 2015,
SELANGOR TURF CLUB MAY MEETING 2015

The Stewards, on 26 May 2015 at the Selangor Turf Club, concluded an inquiry into the
tactics that were adopted on FOX TREASURE. Evidence was taken from Jockey Lou Ho, the
rider of FOX TREASURE.

Jockey Lou Ho explained that after receiving interference upon jumping, the gelding raced
keenly and had a tendency to lay in at various stages and making the home turn, laid out. Upon
straightening, FOX TREASURE had to be checked off the heels of ACME (Y Aify) which
hung out at this point and when Jockey Lou Ho shifted inwards to get a clear run, was further
hampered when SUPER MIX (App SU Lim) commenced to give ground.
The Stewards, after further viewing the patrol films and considering the evidence tendered at
the inquiry, took no action against Jockey Lou Ho, however, noted his comments for future
reference.

RACE 9 (R655) Class 5 1100M (Short Course B), SATURDAY, 23 MAY 2015,
SELANGOR TURF CLUB MAY MEETING 2015

The Stewards, on 26 May 2015 at the Selangor Turf Club, concluded an inquiry into the
tactics that were adopted on DYNAMIC TRIO. Evidence was taken from App P Deneskumar,
the rider of DYNAMIC TRIO, in the presence of his Master, Trainer L Moy who is also the
Trainer of DYNAMIC TRIO.

After viewing the official patrol films of this event and considering the evidence tendered, the
Stewards acting on their own observations, found App P Deneskumar guilty of a charge under
MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the
charge were that passing the 400M, he failed to shift out and take a run to the outside of
BLUABLE (App CC Wong) and again approaching the 200M, when in the opinion of the
Stewards, it was reasonable to do so.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App P Deneskumars mitigating
factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. Acting on the provisions of
MRA Rule 48(5), the Stewards deferred the commencement of App P Deneskumars
suspension. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) months with effect
from 1 June 2015 and to expire on 31 July 2015, both dates inclusive. He was also fined
RM10,000/- and advised of his Right of Appeal (1:15pm).

App P Deneskumar subsequently exercised his Right of Appeal and applied for a Stay of
Sentence. The Stewards considered the application for a stay which was allowed. The appeal
hearing against the penalty of the suspension of 2 months and fine of RM10,000/- will be held
at a date to be fixed.
