RACE 9 (R379) Class 5  1200M (Short Course B)

PERFECT TIME (M Wepner) was slow to begin.

Approaching the 300M, JALAN KING (App S Zulfikri) had to shift out over the heels of
POWER OF TEN (HS Gill) in an endeavour to gain clear running.

Approaching the 200M, App CC Wong, the rider of NUWA, dropped his near side rein.

RED EASTERN (App R Fakruddin) was caught racing wide throughout the event.

AMENDMENT FROM THE VETERINARY DEPARTMENT
RACE 6 (R330) Class 4  1400M (Long Course B), SATURDAY, 7 MARCH 2015,
SELANGOR TURF CLUB MARCH MEETING 2015

Acting on veterinary advice that HOFBURG PALACE had cast a plate en route to the course,
stood on the shoe and was lame near fore, the gelding was withdrawn by order of the Stewards
at 4:20pm and will be required to undergo a veterinary examination before being
declared to race again.



RACE 3 (R327) Maiden  1400M (Short Course B), SATURDAY, 7 MARCH 2015,
SELANGOR TURF CLUB MARCH MEETING 2015

The Stewards, on 11 March 2015 at the Selangor Turf Club, concluded an inquiry into the
riding tactics of TURBO. Further evidence was taken from Jockey J Low, the rider of TURBO
and Trainer F Maynard, the Trainer of TURBO.

After viewing the official patrol films of this event and considering the evidence tendered, the
Stewards acting on their own observations, did not take any action, however, reminded both
parties that they should ensure that in future starts, they should leave no room for query.


RACE 1 (R325) Class 5  1400M (Short Course B), SATURDAY, 7 MARCH 2015,
SELANGOR TURF CLUB MARCH MEETING 2015

The Stewards, on 11 March 2015 at the Selangor Turf Club, concluded an inquiry into Jockey
Y Aifys ride on DUE HOME. Evidence was taken from Jockey Y Aify, the rider of DUE
HOME and Trainer F Maynard, the Trainer of DUE HOME.

After viewing the official patrol films of this event and considering the evidence tendered, the
Stewards acting on their own observations, found Jockey Y Aify guilty of a charge under
MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the
charge were that from the 750M to the 150M, he showed insufficient vigour to ensure that
DUE HOME finish in the best possible placing.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey Y Aifys mitigating
factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. Acting on the provisions of
MRA Rule 48(5), the Stewards deferred the commencement of Jockey Y Aifys suspension.
He was suspended from riding in races for a period of six (6) months with effect from 16
March 2015 and to expire on 15 September 2015, both dates inclusive. He was also fined
RM30,000/- and advised of his Right of Appeal (12:30pm).

Jockey Y Aify subsequently exercised his Right of Appeal and applied for a Stay of
Sentence. The Stewards considered the application for a stay which was allowed. The
appeal hearing against the penalty of the suspension of 6 months and fine of RM30,000/-
will be held at a date to be fixed.


INQUIRY INTO A REPORT RELATING TO A PRE-RACE URINE SAMPLE CODED
180409 AND A POST-RACE URINE SAMPLE CODED 19254 WHICH WAS TAKEN
FROM WHY LIKE THAT WHICH WAS WITHDRAWN FROM RACE 3 (R282) ON
SUNDAY, 22 FEBRUARY 2015 AT THE SELANGOR TURF CLUB FEBRUARY
MEETING 2015, BOTH SAMPLES RETURNED POSITIVE TO CAFFEINE, WHICH
IS A PROHIBITED SUBSTANCE IN TERMS OF MRA RULES

The Stewards concluded an inquiry into the above matter on 13 March 2015 at the Selangor
Turf Club, and evidence was taken from Trainer P Pereira, the Trainer of WHY LIKE THAT.,
and Prof Dr Tan Soo Choon, the Chief Analyst, Usains Biomics Sdn Bhd.

After considering the evidence tendered at the inquiry, Trainer P Pereira was found guilty of a
charge under MRA Rule 134(6)(a) as read with MRA Rule 134(13) and punishable under
MRA Rule 134(7) in that he was the trainer and person responsible for presenting WHY LIKE
THAT which was a late withdrawal in Race 3 on Sunday, 22 February 2015 at the Selangor
Turf Club. The pre-race and post-race urine samples subsequently returned positive to
Caffeine, a prohibited substance under MRA Rules.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Trainer P Pereiras mitigating
factors and previous record. Trainer P Pereira was fined RM10,000/- and was advised of his
Right of Appeal (4:05pm).


POST RACE URINE:
7 MARCH 2015
SELANGOR TURF CLUB MARCH MEETING 2015

The report dated 12 March 2015 (V15/38) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic
Laboratory stated that 22 coded urine and 26 sets of coded blood samples from the above
mentioned race meeting were received on 7 March 2015, for analysis under the MRA Rules
and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.

The report dated 12 March 2015 (V15/39) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic
Laboratory stated that 2 coded urine samples from the above mentioned race meeting were
received on 7 March 2015, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited
substances were detected.

GENERAL REPORT
RACE 8 (R106), CLASS 4  1100M [NATIVE RULER II HANDICAP], SUNDAY,
18TH JANUARY 2015, 1ST DAY, PENANG TURF CLUB JANUARY MEETING 2015

The Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory reported, on 5th March 2015, that the Referee
Sample 06858 taken from the horse WORLD HARMONY and sent to them at the request of
Trainer C Robert for confirmatory analysis had confirmed the presence of Naproxen and
Diclofenac.


RACE 1 (R333) Class 5 - 1700M [HILLCOURT HANDICAP], SUNDAY, 8TH MARCH
2015, 2ND DAY, PENANG TURF CLUB EARLY MARCH MEETING 2015

When questioned regarding the apparent poor performance of KIWI MAESTRO, Trainer Nor
Azman advised the Stewards that he had no real explanation for the poor performance except
that this gelding may need a period of spelling. After considering the matter, the Stewards
were of the opinion that KIWI MAESTRO was showing signs of in-and-out running (MRA
Rule 117(3)), appeared to be unreliable and as such, KIWI MAESTRO was suspended from
racing for a period of one month with effect from Monday, 9th March 2015 and to expire on
Wednesday, 8th April 2015, both dates inclusive.

KIWI MAESTRO will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race
again.


RACE 1 (R333) Class 5 - 1700M [HILLCOURT HANDICAP], SUNDAY, 8TH MARCH
2015, 2ND DAY, PENANG TURF CLUB EARLY MARCH MEETING 2015

App R Fakruddin will be questioned regarding his ride on GOOD CODE on the home turn and
after entering the home straight.


RACE 5 (R337) Class 4 - 1400M [COMPUTER HANDICAP], SUNDAY, 8TH MARCH
2015, 2ND DAY, PENANG TURF CLUB EARLY MARCH MEETING 2015

Jockey M Razali will be questioned regarding his ride on POT BLACK in the back straight
and on the home turn.


RACE 8 (R340) CLASS 5 - 1300M [BARTS COURT HANDICAP], SUNDAY, 8TH
MARCH 2015, 2ND DAY, PENANG TURF CLUB EARLY MARCH MEETING 2015

When questioned regarding the apparent poor performance of TWELFTH AVENUE, Trainer
PK Leong advised the Stewards that he had no real explanation for the poor performance
except that this gelding was a 10-year-old, carrying top weight and may need a period of
spelling. After considering the matter, the Stewards were of the opinion that TWELFTH
AVENUE was showing signs of in-and-out running (MRA Rule 117(3)), appeared to be
unreliable and as such, TWELFTH AVENUE was suspended from racing for a period of one
month with effect from Monday, 9th March 2015 and to expire on Wednesday, 8th April 2015,
both dates inclusive.
TWELFTH AVENUE will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to
race again.


INQUIRY CONCERNING POST-RACE URINE SAMPLE CODED 06858 TAKEN
FROM THE HORSE WORLD HARMONY WHICH WON RACE 8 (R106) ON
SUNDAY, 18TH JANUARY 2015, 1ST DAY, PENANG TURF CLUB JANUARY
MEETING 2015 AND RETURNED POSITIVE TO NAPROXEN AND
DICLOFENAC, PROHIBITED SUBSTANCES IN TERMS OF MRA RULES

The Stewards conducted an inquiry into the above matter on Thursday, 12th March 2015 at the
Penang Turf Club. Evidence was taken from Trainer C Robert, Professor Dr. Tan Soo Choon,
Chief Analyst, USains Holding Sdn. Bhd. and Dr. Cheong Chee Ken, Veterinary Surgeon of
Penang Turf Club.

Trainer C Robert pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 134(6)(a) as read with MRA
Rule 134(13) and punishable under Rule 134(7) in that he, being the Trainer and person
responsible, had raced the horse WORLD HARMONY which won Race 8 at the Penang
Turf Club on Sunday, 18th January 2015, after which a urine sample coded 06858 taken
from this horse returned positive to prohibited substances under the MRA Rules, namely
Naproxen and Diclofenac.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account Trainer C Roberts guilty plea,
mitigating factors and his disciplinary record. Trainer C Robert was fined the sum of
RM20,000/- (Malaysian Ringgit Twenty Thousand). He was advised of his Right of Appeal
(10.50 am).

Under the provision of MRA Rule 134(11), WORLD HARMONY was disqualified from the
race and the race result will be amended accordingly.

The Stewards ordered that a clear urine sample from WORLD HARMONY be submitted for
analysis before this horse is declared to race again, as required under MRA Rule 134(12).


OUT OF COMPETITION TESTING REPORT PERAK TURF CLUB
.
An analysis report dated 10th March,2015 regarding an out of competition sample coded
"06774" taken from the racehorse STUB (F362) on 17th February, 2015 has revealed the
presence of the prohibited substances PHENYLBUTAZONE and
OXYPHENYLBUTAZONE.

On 12th March 2015, Trainer MR. PETER LEE has been informed of the finding. An inquiry
will be held into this matter at a date to be fixed.
