RACE 3 (R311) Class 5 1200m SAMURAI II HANDICAP
BARKER ROAD KID (App KK Chin) was restless in the barrier and jumped awkwardly
at the start.
CHINESE STREET (J Nizam) was leaning in the barrier, jumped awkwardly and was
slow to begin.
MAKEMEAMILLION (App R Fakruddin) was pulling hard and was difficult to settle in
the early part of the race.
DALMATION (HS Gill) was caught wide on the turn from about the 800M.
SUNNY STAR (M Yusri) raced wide throughout.
Post-race veterinary examinations of PROVIDENCE (App KC Tham), BARKER ROAD
KID, DALMATION and SUPREME SASSO (S Salee) revealed no obvious abnormality.
BARKER ROAD KID and DALMATION were impounded for further veterinary and
Trainer J Tan, when questioned about the apparent poor performance of DALMATION
as compared to its previous form, advised the Stewards that in his opinion, the pace today
was too fast for DALMATION coming from an outside draw and this gelding prefers
extra distance. In the past when DALMATON showed better form over 1200M, it was in
Soft going. His explanation was noted. Trainer J Tan was advised that should
DALMATION prove to be inconsistent in future, it may be suspended.
When questioned about the apparent improved performance of LEES MELODY (SS
Vanan) as compared to its previous form, Trainer B Ng advised the Stewards that LEES
MELODY had returned to form after running below par on 15th February 2015 where he
felt that the mare had not saddled up for the second consecutive run after 8th February
2015. Furthermore, on this occasion, he had managed to keep LEES MELODY fresh
and as such, returned to form. Trainer B Ng was advised that LEES MELODY had
shown some signs of in-and-out running and should it prove to be inconsistent in
future, this horse may be suspended.
