RACE 4 [TF1432]
App J See, the rider of AMISTAD, was fined a sum of S$200 for negligence in
terms of MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that he failed to claim and ride at his
declared riding weight.
Permission was granted for Jockey I Saifudin to replace Jockey M Kellady on
EFFORTLESS as the latter was unable to make the weight. Jockey Kellady
was subsequently fined a sum of S$200 in terms of MRA Rule 107(9).
EFFORTLESS was restless in the barrier. Trainer S Baertschiger was advised
that a warning has been placed on EFFORTLESS regarding its barrier
manners and to take steps to improve them or action may be taken in future.
RED COFFEE (M Au) jumped awkwardly outwards and made heavy contact
with FALKIRK LEAD (A Munro), which then bumped heavily with
EFFORTLESS, resulting in all three horses becoming unbalanced. RED
COFFEE was then bumped by JOYOUS (N Juglall), resulting in RED COFFEE
shifting outwards and crowding FALKIRK LEAD out onto the hindquarters of
EFFORTLESS, unbalancing that gelding.
SWAN SONG (M Nunes) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped FORTUNE
SPIRIT (App R Rueven) out onto ARCTIC ROLL (B Vorster).
SUPERB SEVEN (A Da Silva) veered outwards abruptly after the start and
raced wide for some distance thereafter.
RED COFFEE proved difficult to settle in the early stages.
AMISTAD, which raced wide throughout, raced keenly in the early stages.
CONFEIGN (O Chavez) hung outwards from the 800m.
After passing the 500m, CONFEIGN was bumped by OLLIE EAGLE (App K
AIsisuhairi), which was carried outwards by RED COFFEE.
Approaching the 400m, CONFEIGN had to be checked to avoid the heels of
OLLIE EAGLE, which shifted outwards after becoming awkwardly placed on
the heels of SUPERB SEVEN, which was tiring.
Near the 100m, OLLIE EAGLE shifted outwards abruptly inconveniencing
FORTUNE SPIRIT, carrying that gelding wider on the track.
The Farrier reported that OLLIE EAGLE returned having cast its off-fore plate.
Subsequent veterinary examinations were requested on both AGUILA
AZTECA (App CK Ng) and CONFEIGN which revealed no apparent
A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on RED COFFEE which
revealed no apparent abnormality. RED COFFEE, which raced poorly, will be
required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to
being declared to race again.
