RACE 10 [TF1082]
CLASS 4 1200M
ROSEGOLD (App K AIsisuhairi) began awkwardly.
Shortly after the start, FORTUNE WINNER (M Ewe) was bumped heavily
outwards by BANKERS CALL (App Y Ruzaili), which blundered on jumping,
and was then carried outwards by DDON (I Saifudin). Shortly after,
FORTUNE WINNER checked when crowded between BANKERS CALL and
ROCK ESPRIT (B Vorster), which was bumped inwards by JUBILATION (B
Parnham). JUBILATION then bumped ROCK ESPRIT when being carried
inwards by RUN CHEETAH RUN (App J See).
Near the 900m, JUBILATION and ROCK ESPRIT raced tightly on the inside of
ROSEGOLD, which had a tendency to lay inwards.
Approaching the 800m, ROCK ESPRIT and JUBILATION brushed on a number
of occasions when continuing to race tight. Then after passing the 800m,
JUBILATION bumped heavily with ROCK ESPRIT and became unbalanced,
shifted outwards and bumped the hindquarters of ROSEGOLD. Shortly after,
JUBILATION and ROCK ESPRIT bumped again, with JUBILATION being
crowded for room between ROSEGOLD, which rolled iwnards slightly and
ROCK ESPRIT, which shifted outwards. As a result, JUBILATION checked and
when being checked, JUBILATION stumbled.
The Farrier reported that THANKFULNESS (CW Brown) returned having cast
its near-hind plate.
Subsequent veterinary examinations were requested on both ROCK ESPRIT
and JUBILATION which revealed no apparent abnormality.
GENERAL
SINGAPORE AUGUST MEETING 2015
SUNDAY, 02 AUGUST 2015:
RACE 10 [TF0979]
On Sunday, 23 August 2015, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into a report
from the Clerk of Scales that Jockey CW Brown, the rider of FRAAJISTLIC,
returned to scale 1.0kg over the declared weight that he weighed out for the
above race. Jockey Brown pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 121(7)
in that after riding FRAAJISTLIC in Race 10 at the Singapore Turf Club
Meeting on Sunday, 02 August 2015, he returned to scale 1.0kg in excess of
the declared weight that he weighed out for the race. There was no evidence
to suggest that Jockey Brown had or attempted to deceive the Clerk of
Scales when weighing. However, Jockey Brown had admitted consuming
fluids after he weighed out for the race and that this may have contributed to
him returning overweight. When considering penalty, the Stewards took into
account the nature of the charge and his record. Jockey Brown was
suspended from riding in races with effect from Monday, 24 August 2015 to
Friday, 04 September 2015 both dates inclusive (three Singapore Race Days)
and was advised of his Right of Appeal.
