RACE 3 [TF0994]
CLASS 4 LC (D) 1400M
Trainer HK Tan was fined a sum of S$200 for negligence in terms of MRA
Rule 152(5)(a) in that he failed to submit his request for Jockey S John to
ride overweight on FUKU ICHIBAN within the prescribed time at Declarations.
After arriving at the barrier, DRAGON FURY (App T See) had its saddle
readjusted.
HIGHER SOUL (A Munro) was slow to begin after jumping away awkwardly.
MR PATRON (R Woodworth) jumped inwards at the start making contact with
ADRENALINE (App Z Zuriman).
DRAGON FURY jumped outwards at the start making contact with SEASONS
ECHO (App CC Wong). This resulted in SEASONS ECHO and ADRENALINE
being buffeted for a short distance.
Shortly after the start, BRAHMS AND LISZT (M Nunes) and MOLLY BROWNE
(App R Shafiq) bumped on a couple of occasions.
MR PATRON raced keenly in the early stages.
GUARICANA (App T Rehaizat) raced wide throughout.
BRAHMS AND LISZT laid inwards under pressure in the straight.
The Farrier reported that MR PATRON returned having cast its near-hind
plate.
App Rehaizat reported that GUARICANA was not striding out freely. A
subsequent veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.
Trainer HK Tan, when questioned regarding the run of FUKU ICHIBAN, stated
that he normally instructs his riders to attempt to ride in a forward position,
however, on occasions over shorter distances, it had not been able to obtain
a prominent position. In addition, he added that whilst he had expected
FUKU ICHIBAN to race in a forward position today, he had not anticipated it
leading by a large margin. Trainer Tan also stated that FUKU ICHIBAN was a
horse that was best suited when allowed to quicken up gradually in its race
and as the race today did not have a large number of on-pace runners, it had
assisted FUKU ICHIBAN to race in a prominent position. His explanation was
noted.
