RACE 4 [TF0984]
MAIDEN LC (C) 1400M
After arriving at the barrier, DRAGON ROYAL (App T See) had its saddle
CHIPS (B Parnham) jumped away awkwardly.
HANDSOME BAB (N Juglall) and TOOBIGTOFAIL (TH Koh) bumped on
Approaching the 1000m, CHIPS, which was racing keenly, had to be steadied
off the heels of YOUNG LADY (App R Rueven), which shifted inwards.
LUCKY COIN (App J Toeroek) was difficult to settle in the backstraight.
Shortly after passing the 1000m, TOOBIGTOFAIL was buffeted when racing
tight between MISS STREISAND (M Nunes) and JOY AND HAPPY (R
LUCKY COIN and NOTNOWTOMORROW (M Kellady) both raced wide
HANDSOME BAB laid outwards making the turn into the straight, thereby
carrying JOY AND HAPPY and NOTNOWTOMORROW wider on the track.
Approaching the 400m, NOTNOWTOMORROW and TOOBIGTOFAIL brushed
on a couple of occasions.
Approaching the 400m, MISS STREISAND was momentarily inconvenienced
when EURO HEIGHTS (App Z Zuriman) shifted outwards abruptly. Shortly
after, MISS STREISAND was again momentarily held up on the heels of
ANGSANA (I Saifudin).
Passing the 400m, CHIPS was held up on the heels of NOTNOWTOMORROW.
Passing the 300m, CHIPS was taken to the outside of NOTNOWTOMORROW
to obtain a clear running on the outside of LEE MAN (A Munro). However,
NOTNOWTOMORROW rolled outwards resulting in CHIPS again being held up
and as it improved to the inside of LEE MAN, it was unable to come to the
outside of that geldings heels, until near the 100m.
App T See, the rider of DRAGON ROYAL, reported that the gelding had
returned with its saddle having shifted back during the race. This was
subsequently confirmed by the Farrier.
The Veterinary Surgeon reported that ANGSANA bled. In terms of MRA Rule
92(3), it will not be permitted to canter or gallop on the main training tracks
of any racecourse for a period of two months, and may not start in any race
for a period of three months, and then only after having satisfactorily passed
a bleeders test.
Jockey M Nunes, when questioned regarding the run of MISS STREISAND,
stated that his horse had travelled well, however, when he placed it under
pressure to take a run to the outside of EURO HEIGHTS, it had failed to
quicken to improve into the run and shortly after, it had to be eased when
EURO HEIGHTS shifted outwards. Thereafter, MISS STREISAND had run on
only fairly. His explanation was noted. A subsequent veterinary examination
was requested on MISS STREISAND which revealed no apparent abnormality.
