CAPTAIN CLASSIQUE (M Nunes) was restless in the barrier. Trainer M
Walker was advised that a warning has been placed on CAPTAIN CLASSIQUE
regarding its barrier manners and to take steps to improve them or action
may be taken in future.
BLACK LABEL (B Parnham) was slow to begin.
WINNING GOOD (M Zaki) and MR JACKSON (M Rodd) bumped on jumping.
WINNING GOOD then shifted inwards bumping WHISPERINTHEWIND (S
John), which made heavy contact with BULLET (E Aslam).
Near the 1000m, LUCKY LINCOLN (App Z Zuriman) got its head up when
being eased off the heels of BLACK LABEL, which shifted outwards.
Near the 900m, HUMMING BIRD (O Chavez) lost ground when crowded
between BLACK LABEL, which shifted inwards slightly and MR JACKSON,
which shifted outwards and away from NOVA STAR (App R Shafiq).
Passing the 800m, MR JACKSON lost ground when racing tight between
NOVA STAR and BLACK LABEL.
Near the 700m, NOVA STAR got its head up after having to be eased when
racing up onto the heels of BLACK LABEL.
Between the 500m and the 400m, BLACK LABEL was bumped on a number of
occasions when NOVA STAR was attempting to come to the outside of
QUICKSILVER (N Juglall).
Approaching the 250m, WINNING GOOD, which was making ground, had to
be taken inwards after racing up onto the heels of BLACK LABEL. Thereafter,
WINNING GOOD had difficulty obtaining clear running until the concluding
A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on HEES EGO (App CK
Ng) which revealed no apparent abnormality.
Jockey Rodd, when questioned regarding the run of MR JACKSON, stated that
the horse never travelled well throughout and was disappointing after failing
