Acting on veterinary advice that DR N WING FIGHTERS (App WS Chan) was
found to have sustained cuts on its near-fore and hind legs, the Panel of
Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 1245Hrs. In terms of MRA Regulation
24.2, it must be presented to an Official Veterinary Surgeon prior to being
declared to race again.
As there was no similar claiming rider available, the Stewards gave
permission for App Y Salim to replace App MM Firdaus on CANNON KING.
Trainer M Yusof was fined a sum of S$50 in terms of MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for
failing to produce the correct colours on CANNON KING.
After arriving at the barrier, NINETYSEVENEMPEROR (N Juglall) had to have
its saddle readjusted.
GREAT BALLS OFFIRE (App K AIsisuhairi) jumped awkwardly outwards and
bumped SHUYING XIAOXIAO (S Sam) out onto CANNON KING.
POSEIDON (A Munro) proved difficult to settle in the early stages.
Approaching the 1000m, KELTIC KARMA (M Nunes), which was racing
keenly, steadied when crowded between AMI ELEVEN (App Z Zuriman) and
FRENCH VINTAGE (M Kellady), which shifted outwards slightly.
Near the 500m, VICTORY (App T Rehaizat) eased to avoid the heels of
KELTIC KARMA, which shifted outwards when improving.
FRENCH VINTAGE raced wide throughout.
Near the 300m, CANNON KING, which shifted inwards, made contact with the
GREAT BALLS OFFIRE was held up and unable to obtain clear running from
the 300m until passing the 150m.
An Inquiry into the reasons for CANNON KING falling and dislodging its rider
near the 150m will be held at a date to be fixed. App Salim was
subsequently taken to the hospital for further observations.
BELLY DANCE (M Zaki), which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m
gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.
A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on CANNON KING which
revealed that the horse returned with right frontal sinus trauma. In terms of
MRA Regulation 24.2, it must be presented to an Official Veterinary Surgeon
prior to being declared to race again.
A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on MR WHITAKER (M
Rodd) which revealed no apparent abnormality.
