QUE EXPRESION 2003 STAKES
OPEN BENCHMARK 67 SC (C) 1200M
MEXICAN GAL (App R Rueven) was slow to begin after jumping away
EURO ZONE (M Rodd) was crowded on jumping between HARD STUFF (TH
Koh) and WINNING STAR (I Saifudin), which shifted outwards away from
ORIGIN FAST (A Munro).
Approaching the 1000m, ORIGIN FAST laid outwards, resulting in HARD
STUFF carrying GOLD RUN (N Juglall) wider, with GOLD RUN then having to
be steadied off the heels of ART OF WAR (O Chavez), which was laying
inwards. As a result of this, GOLD RUN made contact with the hindquarters
of HARD STUFF, with both of these horses becoming unbalanced and shifting
outwards inconveniencing LIKA TIGER (App K AIsisuhairi), which checked
outwards and carried SICHUAN RULER (YF Leong) wider on the track.
After passing the 800m, GOLD RUN had to be steadied off the heels of HARD
At about the same time, NORTH ATLANTIC ICE (B Vorster) had to be eased
after getting up onto the heels of MEXICAN GAL.
SICHUAN RULER and LIKA TIGER both raced wide from the 800m.
Near the 600m, SPANISH BAY (C Newitt) shifted outwards abruptly away
from the heels of ART OF WAR and in so doing, bumped ORIGIN FAST wider,
with HARD STUFF and LIKA TIGER having to be checked. An Inquiry into this
incident will be held at a date to be fixed.

SINGAPORE MARCH MEETING 2015
SUNDAY, 01 MARCH 2015:
RACE 9 [TF0306]
At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Sunday, 15 March 2015, App Y Ruzaili, the rider of
GRAND VITESS, in the presence of his Master, Trainer S Gray, was found guilty to a
charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding GRAND
VITESS in Race 9 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Sunday, 01 March 2015,
making the turn into the straight, he allowed his mount to shift outwards, when
insufficiently clear, thereby bumping and carrying GLOBAL FOCUS (App K
AIsisuhairi) out onto KTRONIC (N Juglall), with both horses becoming unbalanced
and carried wider on the track. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into
account his record and the degree of interference and carelessness. App Ruzaili was
suspended from riding in races with effect from Monday, 16 March 2015 to Sunday,
22 March 2015 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days) and was advised of
his Right of Appeal.
SINGAPORE MARCH MEETING 2015
FRIDAY, 06 MARCH 2015:
RACE 1 [TF0317]
On Sunday, 15 March 2015, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the
reasons for MATOAKA (App H Syafiq) blundering when racing to the inside of
DRAGON WALK (TH Koh) passing the 900m. It was established that passing
the 900m, MATOAKA, which was proving difficult to settle, dipped after
clipping the heels of DRAGON WALK, which shifted inwards slightly. In the
circumstances, no blame could be attributed to any rider and as such, no
further action was taken. However, Jockey Koh was warned and advised that
he must exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.
