LA FONTANA (B Vorster) jumped away awkwardly.
Approaching the 1400m, ZENZERO (M Nunes) was turned outwards after
making contact with SINGSURAT (M Rodd). At about the same time, NO
SMOKING JEFF was crowded between SINGSURAT and PERCIUS (CW Brown),
which was carried inwards slightly by LA FONTANA when that gelding shifted
inwards away from MEGABUCKS (M Zaki), which rolled inwards momentarily.
As a result of being bumped, SINGSURAT commenced to race keenly and
again bumped with ZENZERO for a number of strides.
Passing the 1200m, SINGSURAT, which was proving very difficult to settle,
lost ground after being crowded between ZENZERO, which was inclined to lay
outwards slightly and NO SMOKING JEFF, which was carried inwards slightly
by PERCIUS and LA FONTANA. Shortly after, NO SMOKING JEFF then shifted
outwards carrying PERCIUS out wider on the track.

Passing the 350m, SINGSURAT and NO SMOKING JEFF bumped and shortly

SOLO, which was giving ground.
Over the concluding stages, HEES A MAVERICK laid outwards slightly
carrying ACROSS THE SEA (App K AIsisuhairi) out onto MATA MATA (KB
Soo), which became unbalanced.
Jockey Rodd reported that SINGSURAT was not striding out freely. A
subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the horse returned with
cuts on its both-hind legs.
A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on HAN SOLO which
revealed no apparent abnormality.
