BA LI BA DANCER, a course scratching which had sustained a bruised off knee, will be
required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
MARATHON LAD which was down 27kgs in body weight since its last run, was
checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
SYCE CRACKER (CK Tan) ducked inwards in anticipation of the short course turn.
Passing the 200M, STAR QUALITY (App KK Chin) which was shifting ground in and
out, caused inconvenience to CANADIAN LAD (Y Aify) on two occasions.
STREET TEASE (TM Wan) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test
(1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
Jockey Y Aify, the rider of CANADIAN LAD reported that his mount was making
respiratory noises. A post-race veterinary examination of CANADIAN LAD revealed no

When questioned in relation to the running of DIRAC, Jockey HS Gill stated that the
horse dipped on jumping and struggled on todays soft track condition and was reluctant

The PRTC Senior Veterinary Surgeon reported that the following horses which have
undergone surgery, will each be required to pass a 1000m trial and veterinary
examination before being declared to race again:-

2) NIGHT SHADOW (Y538) tieback and hobday
3) JUST BLESSED (J378) prosthetic laryngoplasty
4) SASSO MAN (N286) subepiglottic tissue resection laryngotomy
5) DEPUTY LAW (N78) arthroscopy left knee

PERAK TURF CLUB SEPTEMBER MEETING 2014
A report dated 9th October 2014 (V14/108) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic
Laboratory stated that 30 coded urine and 30 sets of coded blood samples from the above
mentioned race meeting were received on 28th September 2014, for analysis under MRA
Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected, except for samples
coded 16272 and 16276 which both revealed the presence of Phenylbutazone &
metabolite. After decoding the sample numbers, it was established that these samples
were reported to have been taken from the DALMATION and JETPOT.
On 14th October 2014, Trainer Jerome Tan, the Trainer of DALMATION and on 12th
October 2014, Trainer MP Thwaites, the Trainer of JETPOT, were advised of the content
of this report and their attentions were drawn to MRA Rule 134(12), which prohibits
DALMATION and JETPOT from racing until it is cleared by the Stewards, and MRA
Rule 137(1)/MRA Regulation 46.1 & 46.2 relating to the referee sample. Inquiries will
be held at a date to be fixed.
Trainer Shane Edwards was fined RM500.00 for scratching BRING MORE MONEY
(F198) in Race 6, Sunday, 19th October 2014 during the Perak October Race Meeting
without a veterinary certificate as stipulated under Clause 3(g) of the Perak Turf Club
