HITCHHIKER, a non-acceptor which had sustained a sore back, will be required to pass
a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
At the start, YOUSINGWEDANCE (K Eirwan) stumbled.
AFTER ME (App KC Wong) jumped awkwardly inward and bumped the starting gate
and lost some ground.
Shortly after the start, SMALL TIGER (F Yap) rolled out and bumped BULL AND
BEAR, unbalancing App SU Lim in the saddle.
At the 300M, GOOD GIFT (App KL Lee) shifted inward when struck with the whip.
ANAK CARABAO (App I Amirul), SMALL TIGER and YOUSINGWEDANCE which
raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race
Post-race veterinary examinations of AFTER ME, YOUSINGWEDANCE and SMALL
TIGER revealed no obvious abnormality.
A post-race veterinary examination of HANDSOME BACHELOR (Alex Chew) revealed
that the gelding had returned with respiratory distress and as such, will be required to
pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
When questioned regarding his ride on HENNESSY DRAGON, Jockey M Yusri said
that he was instructed to ride the horse midfield and improve from the 600M and do his
best to win. He said that HENNESSY DRAGON raced keenly in the early and middle
stages and was difficult to settle, after passing the 1000M crossing, he was bumped by
AFTER ME (App KC Wong) and his horse got further back in the field than he
anticipated. The Stewards noted Jockey M Yusris explanation, however the Stewards
were not impressed with his effort in the early stages of the race and warned him to ride
all his mounts in a manner to leave no room for query in future. A post-race veterinary
examination of HENNESSY DRAGON revealed no obvious abnormality.
When questioned regarding the disappointing run of AFTER ME, App KC Wong stated
that the horse jumped awkwardly at the start and heavily bumped the left side of the
barrier, resulting in him not mustering speed as quickly as he anticipated and traveled in a
midfield position. When placed under pressure in the straight, his mount only ran on
moderately. He said that in his opinion the horse was disappointing. Stewards noted his

AND RETURNED POSITIVE TO FUROSEMIDE, WHICH IS A PROHIBITED
SUBSTANCE IN TERMS OF MRA RULES.
The Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the above matter today, Sunday, 28th September
2014 at the Perak Turf Club. Evidence was taken from Jockey How Yang, who was
assisted by Court Interpreter, Ms Wong Lan Lee and Ms. Chan Sue Hay, Senior Analyst,
Usains Holding Sdn Bhd.
Jockey How Yang pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 136(3)(b) and the
particulars of the charge were that a urine sample coded J2788 submitted by him on
31st August 2014, on analysis, revealed the presence of Furosemide, which is a
prohibited substance in terms of the MRA Rules.
In deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his guilty plea, mitigating factors
and the circumstances of the case. Jockey How Yang was suspended from riding in
races for a period of four (4) months backdated to when he was stood down from riding
trackwork on Friday 12th September 2014 and to expire on Sunday, 11th January 2015,
both days inclusive. He was advised of his right of appeal (12.17pm)

The report dated 25th September 2014 (V14/103) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary
Forensic Laboratory stated that 30 coded urine and 30 sets of coded blood samples from
the above-mentioned race meeting were received on 15th September 2014 for analysis
under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.

The report dated 25th September 2014 (V14/104) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary
Forensic Laboratory stated that 2 coded urine samples from the above-mentioned race
meeting were received on 25th September 2014 for analysis under the MRA Rules and
Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.
