RACE 2 (R965) CLASS 5 1100M str SPORTING GESTURE 1952 HANDICAP
THRUST, a non-acceptor which had sustained tendonitis off fore, will be required to pass
a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
LOCAL GLORY, a non-acceptor which had sustained bruised near fore, will be required
to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
PRINCE NANO, a course scratching as it was suffering from fever, will be required to
pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
DIAMONDINDRUFF (CK Tan) which was difficult to proceed to the start, will be
required to pass a test (1 starting stall to be ridden unaided to the start) before being
declared to race again. A post-race veterinary examination of DIAMONDINDRUFF
revealed that the gelding returned lame off fore and as such, will be required to pass a test
(1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
LA FAMILIA (WK Yan) was slow into stride.
On jumping, IMMORTALITY (M Wepner) was bumped by DIAMONDINDRUFF and
shortly afterwards, was crowded by JACK (App KC Tham) which was taken outwards by
CABRERA (J Shankar). JACK had to steady in this incident. Jockey J Shankar, the
rider of CABRERA was warned to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.
Near the 400M, TRIPLE KWAN (Y Aify) and POWER SHAFT (App MM Firdaus) were
crowded for room when EASTERN KING (J De Souza) shifted in under pressure.
Jockey J De Souza, the rider of EASTERN KING was warned and told to stop and
straighten his mount in future much earlier than what he did on this occasion.
IMMORTALITY which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before
being declared to race again.
Prior to the All Clear being given, an objection was lodged by Trainer T Gillespie, the
Trainer of POWER SHAFT, placed 2nd against JACK (App KC Tham) being declared the
winner on grounds of alleged interference at the final 200M. After considering the
evidence, the Racing Stewards were of the opinion that the material effect of the alleged
interference did not exceed the margin between the two horses at the finish, thereby had
not affected the result of the race. The objection was overruled and the result stood.
Post-race veterinary examinations of LA FAMILIA, CABRERA and EASTERN KING
revealed no obvious abnormality.
