STIPE报告
RACE 6 (R548) OPEN BENCHMARK 73 1400M(sc) INDIAN HEATHER-1950 HANDICAP

HORIZON LAD (I Azhar) showed no early pace, despite being urged along.

Prior to the All Clear being given, an objection was lodged by Jockey J Shankar, the
rider of STRALETA placed 2nd against TANHA STRIKE (TM Wan) being declared the
winner on grounds of alleged interference from the home turn to the winning post. After
considering the evidence, the Racing Stewards were of the opinion that the interference
had not affected the result of the race. The objection was overruled, the result stood and
Jockey J Shankars deposit was refunded.

Post-race veterinary examinations of BOOKY BOY (S Salee) and HORIZON LAD
revealed no obvious abnormality.

A post-race veterinary examination of LUXURIOUS CHOICE (HK Cheng) revealed that
the gelding returned with epiglottic entrapment and as such, will be required to undergo a
corrective surgery and thereafter passed a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race
again.

At the conclusion of an Inquiry, Jockey TM Wan, the rider of TANHA STRIKE pleaded
guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that from
approximately the 300M to the winning post, he allowed his mount TANHA STRIKE to
shift outwards whilst riding along, thereby taking STRALETA (J Shankar) wider on the
track and at the 100M, causing STRALETA to steady inwards across its heels.

When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account Jockey TM Wans guilty plea,
his riding record and mitigating factors. Jockey TM Wans licence to ride in races was
suspended for a period of four (4) days with effect from Monday, 21st April 2014 and to
expire on Friday, 2nd May 2014, both dates inclusive. In addition, he was fined the sum
of RM2,000/- He was advised of his Right of Appeal (5.12pm).
