SUNDAY, 9th FEBRUARY 2014 - PENANG TURF CLUB FEBRUARY MEETING 2014
When questioned regarding the performance of TIME TO SHINE today (Thursday, 13th
February 2014 at the Perak Turf Club), Jockey M Yusri stated that he was instructed to get a
good jump, race forward in 3rd/4th/5th position, make his move at the 600M and do his best in
the straight. He said that after jumping well, he was able to race forward as instructed but
from a wide barrier, he was unable to get closer to the rail and was forced to race 3 wide for
the majority of the race. He further stated that when he made his move near the 600M, TIME
TO SHINE was under pressure and approaching the home turn, when he asked for an effort,
his mount did not respond as expected and was disappointing.
His explanation was noted. A post-race veterinary examination of TIME TO SHINE revealed
no obvious abnormality. TIME TO SHINE which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test
(1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
