RACE 10 [TF1037]
Acting on veterinary advice that BEVERLY HILL (App P Dellorto) was found to
be lame near-fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 1656Hrs.
In terms of MRA Regulation 24.2, it must be presented to an Official
Veterinary Surgeon prior to being declared to race again.
As there was no similar claiming rider available, the Stewards gave
permission for App J See to replace App T Rehaizat on VIVA RAAJ.
FLUTZ (App R Rueven) began awkwardly.
AUREUS (N Juglall) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped PHARMA
BROWNE (L Allpress) out onto FLYING NEKO (E Aslam).
Shortly after the start, OCTIVIA (I Saifudin), which was slow into stride,
steadied to avoid the heels of BRAD (App Z Zuriman), which shifted
Near the 1500m, GEESON MASTER (App K AIsisuhairi) shifted inwards and
After passing the 800m, VIVA RAAJ steadied when crowded between
ALASAMO (CW Brown) and GEESON MASTER, which commenced to hang
outwards. BRAD, which was racing to the outside of ALASAMO, was
hampered in consequence. GEESON MASTER then continued to hang
outwards badly and in so doing, carried ALASAMO, which had been wide
throughout, wider on the track. This resulted in GEESON MASTER and
ALASAMO making the turn into the straight extremely wide.
Passing the 600m, VIVA RAAJ was buffeted for a number of strides between
BRAD and OCTIVIA, which shifted outwards slightly when improving.
After passing the 500m, OCTIVIA checked off the heels of LECTERN (T
OShea), which was giving ground.
The Farrier reported that ALASAMO returned having cast its near-fore plate.
A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on ALASAMO which
revealed no apparent abnormality.
App AIsisuhairi, when questioned regarding the run of GEESON MASTER,
stated that the gelding was initially inclined to lay outwards making the turn
near the 1200m. However, when making the turn near the 800m, GEESON
MASTER hung outwards badly and proved difficult to control. He further
stated that when attempting to get the gelding to change its lead leg near
the 300m, it shifted inwards abruptly. He then eased GEESON MASTER down
over the final 100m. His explanation was noted. GEESON MASTER was
impounded for routine veterinary and analytical examination. The Veterinary
Surgeon reported that the horse returned lame near-fore. GEESON MASTER
will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial from the barrier and a
veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.
