SPEEDY CAT (App T See), WHAT NOW (V Leal) and HOT GOLD (I Santana)
were all slow into stride.
SICHUAN RULER (App K AIsisuhairi) jumped awkwardly outwards.
Shortly after the start, BORN TO FLY (L Allpress) eased when crowded
between RED BEARD (App R Hasri) and SIR LOVESALOT (CW Brown), which
was taken outwards slightly by SAVANNAH DANCER (M Nunes).
After passing the 1300m, NATURAL NICE (B Vorster) steadied to avoid the
heels of RAFAGA (I Saifudin), which shifted inwards. Jockey Saifudin was
subsequently shown the film of the incident and warned to exercise greater
care when shifting ground in future.
Approaching the 1000m, SAVANNAH DANCER eased when crowded between
RED BEARD and SICHUAN RULER, which laid outwards. SIR LOVESALOT,
which was following, had to be checked outwards away from the heels of
SAVANNAH DANCER and in doing so, bumped WHAT NOW and carried that
gelding wider on the track.
NATURAL NICE raced wide throughout.
After passing the 500m, SICHUAN RULER shifted outwards and became
awkwardly placed on the heels of RAFAGA. As a result, SICHUAN RULER
steadied and changed course to the inside.
RED BEARD laid inwards under pressure for a majority of the straight.
Near the 200m, SPEEDY CAT steadied when crowded between HOT GOLD
and WHAT NOW, which shifted inwards to avoid the heels of RAFAGA, which
was giving ground. SPEEDY CAT was then held up for clear running over the
HOT GOLD was held up for clear running over the last 50m.
Jockey Nunes reported that SAVANNAH DANCER was not striding out
freely. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the horse
