Emergency acceptors ETERNAL CHEERS and DECISIVE were withdrawn due to a
Trainer KK Loh was fined RM250/- under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to remove
blinker/pacifiers on HAPPY LUCK within the stipulated time.
ONLY WISH and HAPPY LUCK which were up 17kgs and 20kgs respectively in
body weight since their last run, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior
to the race and were passed fit to start.
MONEY NOT ENOUGH (D Bonilla) was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon
before the race and was passed fit to start.
Acting on a report from the Starter that HAPPY LUCK (App KC Tham) was difficult
to be loaded and was loaded riderless, it will be required to pass a test (1 starting stall)
before being declared to race again.
MATTS FORTE (TM Wan) jumped awkwardly outwards and brushed the gate and
shortly afterwards, was crowded for room between PERHAPS (LL Tai) which
jumped awkwardly outwards and GOLDEN PARTNER (I Azhar) which was taken
inwards by UNITY STAR (BN Shahrul) which jumped awkwardly inwards.
GOLDEN PARTNER and MATTS FORTE lost ground in this incident.
UTAH PARDNER (M Wepner) raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
Near the 1000M, OIL TOWN CAPTAIN (J Shankar) shifted outwards away from
UTAH PARDNER which continued to race keenly and in doing so, took SMALL
TIGER (App M Ganeesh) outwards onto SAPPHIRE STAR (K Eirwan) which was
taken wider on the track.
The saddle on UNITY STAR slipped backwards during the race, placing its rider at a
DUSKY MAIDEN (M Djulkifli), ONLY WISH (HS Gill), OIL TOWN CAPTAIN,
MATTS FORTE and BLESSINGINDISGUISE (J Low) which raced poorly, will
each be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
Jockey K Eirwan, the rider of SAPPHIRE STAR reported that his mount was making
Jockey HS Gill, the rider of ONLY WISH, J Shankar, the rider of OIL TOWN
CAPTAIN and TM Wan, the rider of MATTS FORTE reported that their mounts
were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of ONLY WISH, OIL
TOWN CAPTAIN, MATTS FORTE, SAPPHIRE STAR, UNITY STAR, GOLDEN
PARTNER and DUSKY MAIDEN revealed no obvious abnormality.
When questioned regarding the improved performance of BLUE DELAGO (N
Callow, Trainer S Cook explained that BLUE DELAGO did not handle the heavy
track last start in Penang and with a stronger rider today and racing with winkers for
the first time on its home track, helped BLUE DELAGO to concentrate better in its
racing had contributed to the improved performance. His explanation was noted and
he was reminded of his obligations of the Rules regarding in-and-out running.
