be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
THEBETSON, a course scratching as it had a swelling at off fore-leg, will be required to
pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
PRIME MOVER, which was down 22kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked
by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
Trainer S Edwards was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for
failing to present WILD WEST WILLY (S Salee) to the holding area within the

despite being urged along.
Near the 1000M, GOLDEN HANDSHAKE (App CK Tan), which was pulling hard and
difficult to settle, steadied after racing up onto the heels of REEL SCHMICK (J Low).
Near the 800M, PRIME MOVER (M Wepner) steadied off the heels of GOLDEN
HANDSHAKE which rolled inwards.
EQUALLY OPTIMISTIC (C Lindop) raced wide home turn.
Near the 250M, WILD WEST WILLY was crowded for room between BUENA VISTA
which rolled inwards and PIUS TOUCH (App CF Wong) which rolled outwards.
Near the 50M, GOLDEN HANDSHAKE steadied off the heels of LUCKY MONEY
which rolled inwards.
BUENA VISTA raced wide throughout.
Post-race veterinary examinations of MR WHYTE and PIUS TOUCH revealed no
Jockey M Wepner, the rider of PRIME MOVER, reported that his mount was not
striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of PRIME MOVER revealed no
obvious abnormality. PRIME MOVER, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a
test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
When questioned regarding the performance of WILD WEST WILLY, Jockey S Salee
stated that he was instructed to get a good jump, sit where comfortable and make his
move at the 600M. He said that he felt WILD WEST WILLY did not handle the heavy
going today and when he asked for an effort in the home straight, his mount did not
respond and commenced to give ground. His explanation was noted.
A post-race veterinary examination of WILD WEST WILLY revealed that it returned
broken-winded and as such, will be required to undergo corrective surgery and thereafter
pass a test (1200M/vet) before being declared to race again. WILD WEST WILLY was

At the conclusion of an Inquiry today (14th July 2013), SJockey C Goon, the rider of
TROUBLE SHOOTER, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule
44(9)(a)(ii) in that near the 800M, he allowed his mount, TROUBLE SHOOTER, to
shift inwards when insufficiently clear of BERNI DANCER (App MM Firdaus) and
BABY POLO (App SL Lam), causing BERNI DANCER to check and lose ground, and
BABY POLO to clip TROUBLE SHOOTERs heels, stumble and causing its rider to
become severely unbalanced in the saddle. As a result, BABY POLO lost ground.
When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account the severity of the
interference, Jockey C Goons guilty plea and his riding record. Jockey C Goons
licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of five (5) race days with effect from
Monday, 15th July 2013 and to expire on Saturday, 27th July 2013, both dates inclusive.
He was advised of his Right of Appeal (12.47 pm).
