RACE 8 (R608) Class 4 1700M
BANDIT HANDICAP

ROCKET EXPRESS, which was down 16kgs in body weight since its last run, was
checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

This race was re-scheduled to start at 5.50 pm.

Acting on veterinary advice that NO COMMENT (App F Yusoff) was lame near fore-
leg, the Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 5.49 pm. NO COMMENT will be required
to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

The saddle on STAR OF BRAZIL (M Wepner) was re-adjusted behind the barriers.

On jumping, TURNINGOLD (J Shankar) checked when crowded for room between
MATTS FORTE (App M Ganeesh) which jumped awkwardly outwards and IWA
ANTILIA (J Lermyte) which jumped awkwardly inwards. As a result, TURNINGOLD
lost ground in this incident and Jockey J Shankar became unbalanced in the saddle.

STAR OF BRAZIL (M Wepner) was slowly away.

Near the 1300M, TURNINGOLD steadied off the heels of CARBON COPY (I Azhar).

MATTS FORTE raced keenly in the back straight.

MATTS FORTE raced wide first turn.

Near the 1200M, IWA ANTILIA steadied when momentarily crowded for room between
ROCKET EXPRESS (App I Amirul) which rolled outwards and TURNINGOLD which
rolled inwards.

Near the 150M, RUSSIAN SAFARI (M Helmy) steadied when momentarily crowded for
room between TRIPLE SMILE (HK Cheng) and DALMATION (App Z Khairil) which
rolled inwards.

Near the 100M, IWA ANTILIA steadied when momentarily crowded for room between
ROCKET EXPRESS (App I Amirul) which rolled outwards and TURNINGOLD which
rolled inwards.

Jockey Lou Ho, the rider of SILVER ELEMENT, reported that the gelding was making
respiratory noises. A post-race veterinary examination revealed SILVER ELEMENT
returned broken-winded and as such, will be required to undergo corrective surgery and
pass a test (1200M/vet) before being declared to race again.

A post-race veterinary examination on TRIPLE SMILE revealed no apparent
abnormality.

When questioned regarding the performance of CARBON COPY, Jockey I Azhar stated
that he was instructed to get good jump, sit 4th/5th position and make his move near the
600M. He said that near the 600M when he made his move, the gelding did improve
gradually, however near the 350M when he asked for an effort, his mount did not
respond and was disappointing. His explanation was noted. A post-race veterinary
examination on CARBON COPY revealed no apparent abnormality.
