Near the 1000m, STYLISH LAD (KT Cheng) was taken inwards off its course
by LAM EDITION (App LQ Kek), which shifted inwards abruptly.
After passing the 1000m, DIVAS BROTHER and ZORRO (App WL Tan)

DIVAS BROTHER raced greenly in the early stages.
STORMY ALONG (M Nunes) raced wide throughout.
An Inquiry into the reason that STORMY ALONG was taken outwards off its
course by BLACK SORCERER (App T See) over the concluding stages was
adjourned to a date to be fixed.
An Objection was lodged by Jockey Nunes, the rider of second placegetter,
STORMY ALONG, against BLACK SORCERER, being declared the winner, on

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on FUTURE SHOW which

Jockey Verenzuela, when questioned regarding the run of ESCALADE PEAK,
stated that he allowed his mount to settle back in the field as instructed in an
effort to give it a chance to run on over the concluding stages. Jockey
Verenzuela added that after settling towards the rear of the field to the
inside, his mount resented the kickback and despite him urging the gelding
along, it failed to improve until he took ESCALADE PEAK to the outside near
the 600m whereupon the gelding did respond to his riding but ran on only
fairly in the straight. His explanation was noted. Jockey Verenzuela reported
that ESCALADE PEAK was not striding out freely. A subsequent veterinary
examination revealed no apparent abnormality.
Trainer D Kok, when questioned regarding the apparent improved
performance of BLACK SORCERER, stated that the gelding had worked well
and shown good improvement since its last run on 06 October 2013 when it
was resuming from a long spell over 1400m. Trainer Kok added that BLACK
SORCERER may have been better suited to the 1200m distance of todays
race on the Polytrack. His explanation was noted.
