PURE RABID (L Allpress) was difficult to be loaded into the barrier. Trainer C
Brown was advised that a warning has been placed on PURE RABID regarding
its barrier manners and to take steps to improve them or action may be
taken in future.

RIEDEL (A Munro) began extremely awkwardly and lost ground.

WINNING SUCCESS (M Nunes) raced wide in the early and middle stages.

TRADING GOLD (B Vorster) raced wide from the 1000m.

Near the 400m, BRILLIANT POWER (V Leal) steadied when crowded for room
by GALAXY EXPRESS (I Santana), which rolled inwards slightly.

Approaching the 100m, PURE RABID shifted outwards and away from RIEDEL
when that gelding improved on the inside of PURE RABID. Shortly
thereafter, RIEDEL shifted outwards and inconvenienced PURE RABID.

For the majority of the straight, WINNING SUCCESS laid inwards under

Jockey Santana reported that GALAXY EXPRESS was not striding out
freely. A subsequent veterinary examination confirmed this. GALAXY
EXPRESS, which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial
and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

Jockey Vorster, when questioned regarding the run of TRADING GOLD,
stated that after beginning well, he obtained a good position and his mount
travelled well in the early and middle stages. He added that after placing
TRADING GOLD under pressure near the 800m, his mount had a tendency to
hang outwards and failed to respond to his riding and was generally
disappointing. His explanation was noted. A subsequent veterinary
