RACE 10 [TF1285]

DESERT VIKING (App TK Barnabas), which had been restless in the barrier,
began awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, RISK FACTOR (App WL Tan) and GARATTA KID (M
Nunes) were buffeted when crowded between DESERT VIKING, which shifted
inwards slightly and URBAN LEGEND (M Suhaimi), which shifted outwards.

RICH BORN (L Allpress) raced keenly in the early stages.

CARRY ON FAMOUS (S John) raced wide throughout.

KTRONIC (I Saifudin) shifted outwards under pressure over the concluding

For the majority of the straight, RICH BORN laid outwards, resulting in its
rider being unable to ride the gelding out in her normal manner.

GOLDEN FRIENDS (G Cheyne) and DESERT VIKING, which both raced poorly,
will each be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination
prior to being declared to race again.

Jockey Nunes, when questioned regarding the run of GARATTA KID, stated
that after being crowded on jumping, he was able to go forward and after
initially racing wide, he managed to get into a position with cover near the
1200m. However, shortly after, the gelding commenced to travel only fairly
and despite being urged along from then on, it failed to respond and
disappointed. Trainer S Gray, when questioned, stated that he had
instructed Jockey Nunes to race in a forward position, which he attempted to
do. He further stated that in his opinion, after having been crowded early
and having to work a little to obtain a forward position with the big weight,
this may have contributed to its poor performance. Their explanations were
noted. GARATTA KID was impounded for routine veterinary and analytical
examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported no apparent abnormality.
