RACE 1 (R1556) KINGS SEAL HANDICAP - CLASS 4 1100M STR, 2nd DAY,
SUNDAY, 18TH NOVEMBER 2012, PERAK TURF CLUB NOVEMBER
CORONATION CUP MEETING 2012

The Stewards today (on 26 November 2012) concluded an inquiry into the ride of App I
Fadzlei when he rode BALE in the above race.

Evidence was taken from App I Fadzlei who was assisted by Ms. Saraswathy A/P
Meyapa Chettiar, Ipoh Session Court Interpreter, Trainer LN Danis, Trainer Kevin
Coetzee who was acting on behalf of Trainer BT Lim who is the Master of App I Fadzlei.

App I Fadzlei stated that he was instructed to get a good jump, sit midfield, make his
move at the 500M and do his best to win or run a place. He said that after jumping, his
mount showed no early pace, despite being urged along in order to sit midfield. He said
that near the 500M, he commenced to make his move on BALE and near the 200M, his
mount laid inwards after using the whip in the right hand, obliging him to stop and
straighten. He further stated that near the 100M, his mount again laid inwards after
using the whip in his right hand and in doing so, bumped CAPTAIN PENANG, obliging
him to stop and straighten. App I Fadzlei said that he was unable to ride his mount with
more vigour due to the gelding laying inwards over the final 200M. App I Fadzlei also
stated that he was reluctant to change his whip from the right hand to the left hand, as he
is not comfortable using the whip in the left hand due to limited experience.

Trainer LN Danis confirmed the instructions and stated that he also had concerns with
App I Fadzleis vigour, however after looking at the video of the race, it was evident that
BALE had a tendency to lay inwards over the last 200M, having raced on the straight for
the first occasion. Trainer Danis was told that his explanation was noted.

After hearing all his evidence and reviewing the films, the Stewards gave App I Fadzlei
the benefit of the doubt on this occasion. Stewards told App I Fadzlei that they would
contact his Master Trainer BT Lim in relation to provide more training in reference to his
whip use when changing from the right hand to the left hand. Stewards also told App I
Fadzlei that he would be expected to seek permission from the Stewards to ride BALE on
the straight course again in future.

Meyapa Chettiar, Ipoh Session Court Interpreter and Trainer Stephen J Cook. After
hearing all evidence and viewing the films, Jockey BN Shahrul pleaded guilty to a charge

the 800M to the 450M, he failed to make sufficient effort to improve his position closer
to SUBORDINATE (K Eirwan) when an opportunity presented itself. When
determining on the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey BN Shahruls
