Jockey A Munro, the rider of TE AKAU KING, was fined a sum of S$200 for
negligence in terms of MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that he accepted two rides in
the same race during Declarations on Wednesday, 29 August 2012.
MACAU ROULETTE (App M Firdaus), which was difficult to handle behind the
barrier, will be required to pass one starting stall test prior to being declared
to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).
THE GREAT GREY (App WX Wong) was fractious in the barrier. In view of its
previous record and as THE GREAT GREY is a repeat offender, it will be
barred from racing or entering for a test trial for a period of fourteen days,
after which it must pass two consecutive starting stall tests.
FLY NOW (S Baster) and THRUST (I Saifudin) were both crowded on jumping
between ROMA (S Anandan) and MACHFIVE (B Vorster), both of which

crowded between MURALI (J Moreira) and PURE TACTICS (O Chavez), which

Approaching the 1000m, MACAU ROULETTE steadied and lost ground when
PURE TACTICS rolled outwards.
For some distance passing the 1000m, THE GREAT GREY, TO BE
REMEMBERED and TE AKAU KING raced tight.
Near the 800m, MACAU ROULETTE steadied when momentarily crowded
between DASHING WARRIOR and TO BE REMEMBERED, which shifted
inwards away from TE AKAU KING.
THE GREAT GREY laid inwards under pressure in the straight.
Approaching the Winning Post, THRUST steadied when awkwardly placed
close to the heels of ROMA.
A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on THE GREAT GREY
which revealed no apparent abnormality.

be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to
being declared to race again.
Trainer M Clements, when questioned regarding the improved performance
of DASHING WARRIOR, stated that the horse overraced at its two previous
starts and for this reason, he removed the Blinkers in an effort to get the
gelding to settle in the event. He further stated that he had instructed the
rider to attempt to obtain cover in behind the pace today and after settling
early, he was able to find the line well. His explanation was noted.
