PERAK TURF CLUB MAY/JUNE MEETING 2012
At the conclusion of an Inquiry, Jockey K Eirwan, the rider of OIL TOWN CAPTAIN,
pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that near the
400M, he allowed his mount OIL TOWN CAPTAIN to shift inwards whilst riding along
when insufficiently clear of CARBON COPY (M Wepner) causing that gelding to be
hampered when crowded for room between OIL TOWN CAPTAIN and GOOD
RECOMMEND (I Azhar), resulting in CARBON COPY clipping the heels of GOOD
RECOMMEND and fell, dislodging its rider, M Wepner. When deciding on a penalty,
the Stewards took into account jockey K Eirwans guilty plea, the degree of interference,
mitigating circumstances and his riding record. Jockey K Eirwans licence to ride in
races was suspended for a period of five (5) race days. Acting under MRA Rule 48(5),
his suspension was deferred and will take effect from 9th July 2012 till 22nd July 2012,
