SINGAPORE MAY MEETING 2012
SUNDAY, 20 MAY 2012:

RACE 1 [TF704]

On Wednesday, 30 May 2012, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the
reasons for TRIP TO BRAZIL (B Vorster) having to check when racing
between ASPEN HEIGHTS (J Verenzuela) and GYPSY MAGIC (I Saifudin) to its
outside and EXCITING AHEAD (O Bosson) to its inside near the 800m. It was
established that near the 800m, TRIP TO BRAZIL had to be checked when
racing tight between EXCITING AHEAD, which rolled outwards marginally and
ASPEN HEIGHTS, which laid inwards and away from GYPSY MAGIC, which
shifted inwards slightly. In the circumstances, no blame could be attributed
to any rider and as such, no further action was taken.

RACE 2 [TF705]

On Wednesday, 30 May 2012, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the
reasons for AFTERNOON DELIGHT (G Cheyne) having to check whilst racing
to the outside of AMERICAN GLADIATOR (V Sivan) and SELECT GATHERING
(O Bosson) near the 900m. It was established that near the 900m,
AFTERNOON DELIGHT checked off the heels of AMERICAN GLADIATOR, which
when racing keenly, shifted outwards abruptly when being steadied off the
heels of SELECT GATHERING, which was eased after shifting inwards into the
running of AMERICAN GLADIATOR. In the circumstances, no blame could be
attributed to any rider and as such, no further action was taken. However,
Jockey Bosson was warned and advised that he must exercise greater care
when shifting ground in future.

RACE 4 [TF707]

On Wednesday, 30 May 2012, the Stewards concluded an Inquiry into the
reasons for GALILEAN REBEL (S Anandan) and CARTAGO (O Chavez) both
having to check whilst racing to the inside of PADDY OREILLY (App R Shafiq)
passing the 1200m. It was established that passing the 1200m, GALILEAN
REBEL was checked when crowded by CARTAGO, which when overracing,
was checked after racing up onto the heels of PADDY O'REILLY, which was
also overracing and shifting inwards when being restrained off the heels of
SACRED EMBLEM (S Baster) after that gelding was steadied. In the
circumstances, no blame could be attributed to any rider and as such, no
further action was taken.
