The Stewards permitted Jockey S John to replace Jockey J Saimee on
NORTHERN STRENGTH as the latter was stood down by the Club Medical
The Stewards permitted Jockey J Shankar to replace Jockey M Wepner on
ETERNAL TRAVELLER as the latter was stood down by the Club Medical
GOOD GOOD LUCK (KY Yap) shifted its off fore plate at the start and had to be
re-shod and passed fit to race.
NORTHERN STRENGTH (S John) was slow to begin.
On jumping, GOOD FRIEND (HK Cheng) jumped inwards and bumped
WISEMAN (J Low). After the bump, HK Cheng lost the use of his near side
HAPPY THOUGHTS (K Eirwan) was hampered on jumping away by AUSSIE
SON (L Sofhan) on the outside and ETERNAL TRAVELLER (J Shankar) on the
NINE TEN (G Hind) over raced and was difficult to settle in the early and middle
stages of the race.
HAPPY THOUGHTS and HOSS CARTWRIGHT (M Gallagher) laid out over the
concluding stages and finished wide on the track.
A post-race veterinary examination of ETERNAL TRAVELLER revealed that it
was lame near fore and as such will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet)
before being entered to race again.
INQUIRY INTO THE RIDING OF RACEHORSE SANGO RIDDEN BY APP I
FADZLEI IN RACE 12 (R478), ON SATURDAY, 31ST MARCH 2012, CURRENT
The Stewards continued with the inquiry into the above matter. After taking
evidence from Trainer PS Kumaran, trainer of SANGO, and Trainer BT Lim,
Master of App I Fadzlei, and further evidence from App I Fadzlei, the rider of
SANGO, App I Fadzlei was charged under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride
SANGO to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the charge were
that Stewards were not satisfied with his reason for changing the whip from right
hand to left hand and Stewards were also not satisfied that he used his whip with
sufficient effect over the final 400M. App I Fadzlei was suspended from riding in
races for a period of two (2) months with effect from Monday, 2nd April and to
expire on 1st June 2012, both days inclusive. App I Fadzlei pleaded not guilty
and was advised of his right of appeal at 1.00pm.
