CLASS 4 1200M

EXCEL N STRIKE (S Baster), which was fractious in the barrier and became
cast, was taken out and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. Acting on
veterinary advice, the Race Meeting Stewards ordered its withdrawal at
2227Hrs. EXCEL N STRIKE will be required to pass one starting stall test
prior to being declared to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).

TRUMPADAL (App JL Li), which was difficult to be loaded, will be required to
pass one starting stall test prior to being declared to race again in terms of
MRA Rule 78(2).

NEW TARGET (App T Rehaizat) and TRUMPADAL both began awkwardly.

ROYAL STYLE (O Chavez) and PREMIER GRADE (B Vorster) bumped on
jumping.

Near the 900m, BLACK RAIN (J Powell), which was difficult to settle, had to
be steadied off the heels of HILARY (G Cheyne).

Near the 800m, ZAC VELOCITY (J Moreira) checked whilst racing to the
inside of CALIFORNIAN GIRL (O Bosson). An Inquiry into this incident will be
held at a date to be fixed.

Making the turn into the straight, BIG GALLANT (App R Shafiq) steadied
when crowded to the inside of BLACK RAIN, which was taken inwards by
TRUMPADAL, which shifted inwards abruptly.

For some distance approaching the 200m, BLACK RAIN and NEW TARGET
both raced tight.

The Veterinary Surgeon reported that GUSTORIKO (S John) bled. In terms
of MRA Rule 92(5), it will not be permitted to canter or gallop on the main
training tracks of any racecourse for a period of five months, and may not
start in any race for a period of six months, and then only after having
satisfactorily passed a bleeders test.

App Rehaizat, the rider of NEW TARGET, reported that his horse was not
striding out freely. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no
apparent abnormality. NEW TARGET, which raced poorly, will be required to
pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared
to race again.
