U S BOLT (S Sandana) reared and dislodged its rider whilst in the stall. The start was
delayed as MACAU ROULETTE and U S BOLT were both fractious in the barrier. Both
horses were removed from their barriers, checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon,
passed fit to race and were reboxed. Trainers T Gillespie and Nor Azman were both
informed that a warning has been placed on U S BOLT and MACAU ROULETTE
respectively to improve on their barrier manners, failing which action may be taken
against them in future.
MACAU ROULETTE, ALI BABA, RICH & ROYAL and U S BOLT all jumped
FEISTY LEO and U S BOLT both raced keen and were difficult to settle in the early and
middle stages of the race.
Near the 900M, FEISTY LEO which continued to race keenly, veered outwards after
racing up onto the heels of DIDI.
FEISTY LEO hung outwards rounding the home turn.
Near the 200M, FEISTY LEO (R Woodworth) and SPEED MAN (J Low) both laid
inwards, obliging their riders to stop and straighten
Post-race veterinary examinations of FREEHOLD and JUSWANTOWIN revealed no
obvious abnormality. FREEHOLD and JUSWANTOWIN which both raced poorly, will
each be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being entered to race again.
A post-race veterinary examination of SPEED MAN revealed that the gelding returned
exhibiting signs of respiratory distress and as such will be required to pass a test
(1000M/vet after a 3-week embargo) before being entered to race again.
Jockey S Sandana, the rider of U S BOLT, reported that his horse was not striding out
freely. A post-race veterinary examination of U S BOLT revealed no obvious
abnormality. The gelding was impounded.
App KM Lai who rode his 40th winner on RICH & ROYAL in this race, would only be
entitled to claim 2kgs allowance as from Monday, 26th December 2011.
