Emergency acceptor, DREAM ISLAND was withdrawn due to a capacity field.
MEDINET which was up 38kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the
Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
The Stewards permitted Jockey M Zaidi to replace Jockey M Wepner on SMART
VENTURE as the latter was stood down by the Club Medical Officer.
On jumping, SONIC and MEDINET bumped.
BEFLEDGED jumped awkwardly and was slowly away.
ANH YEU EM jumped awkwardly resulting in Jockey B Tai becoming momentarily
SMART VENTURE jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped PALMSTON and shortly
afterwards, SMART VENTURE dipped.
Near the 1100M, HATAHUALPA steadied off the heels of JAZZMINT DELIGHT
which shifted inwards away when not quite clear. App I Fadzlei, the rider of JAZZMINT
DELIGHT, was reprimanded and notified to exercise more care when shifting ground in
Near the 100M, BETTER TIMES shifted inwards across the heels of HATAHUALPA.
Near the 1100M, SMART VENTURE steadied off the heels of BETTER TIMES which
was taken inwards by ANH YEU EM.
App I Fadzlei, the rider of JAZZMINT DELIGHT, reported that his horse was making
significant respiratory noises. A post-race veterinary examination of JAZZMINT
DELIGHT revealed that the gelding returned exhibiting signs of respiratory distress and
as such will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet after a 2-week embargo) before being
entered to race again.
Jockey K Eirwan, the rider of PALMSTON, reported that his horse was not striding out
freely. A post-race veterinary examination of PALMSTON revealed no obvious

At the conclusion of an Inquiry today, Jockey B Tai, the rider of ANH YEU EM, pleaded
guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that near the 900M,
he allowed his mount, ANH YEU EM, to shift inwards when insufficiently clear of
BETTER TIMES, thereby causing that gelding to shift inwards onto SONIC causing that
gelding to check and lose its rightful running. SAGARS BEST which was following,
checked off the heels of SONIC and hampered SMART VENTURE and BEFLEDGED.
Acting on the provisions of MRA Rule 48(5), the Stewards deferred the commencement
of Jockey B Tais suspension. Jockey B Tai was suspended from riding in races for a
period of three (3) race days with effect from 31st October 2011 and to expire on 11th
November 2011, both days inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal (6:40pm).
