RACE 7 (R1288)
FAIRBORN, a course scratching as it was suffering from colic, will be required to
undergo a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
WIENER which was up 17kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club
Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
Trainer PK Leong was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for
failing to declare the use of blinkers on APRIL RAIN.
Shortly after jumping away, SAGA KING, GOLDEN BALL, STUNNING SAPPHIRE
and CHEEK TO CHEEK were all hampered when tightened for room between WIENER
which shifted in slightly and PRINCESS SARAH which shifted out.
PRINCESS SARAH and GOLDEN BALL both raced keenly in the early and middle
stages of the race.
Near the 800M, GOLDEN BALL dipped.
The saddle on CHEEK TO CHEEK slipped forward during the running of the race,
placing Jockey MW Teh at a disadvantage.
Jockey KT Cheng, the rider of PRINCESS SARAH, reported that his horse was not
striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of PRINCESS SARAH revealed
no obvious abnormality.
A post-race veterinary examination of SILENCE IS GOLDEN revealed no obvious
abnormality. The gelding which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet)
before being entered to race again.

SUNDAY, 18TH SEPTEMBER 2011 AT THE PERAK TURF CLUB SEPTEMBER

the running and handling of GOOD POWER. After taking evidence from Jockey J
Shankar and Trainer KF Coetzee, the rider and trainer of GOOD POWER respectively,
the Stewards informed Jockey J Shankar that they took into account GOOD POWERs
waywardness, in that the gelding hung in and hung out in the straight, and its previous
racing manners. The Stewards informed Jockey J Shankar that they were not entirely
satisfied with his ride, and notified him that in their opinion he should have shown more
initiative to ride his mount out sooner than he did on this occasion for several strides after
passing the 100M. The Stewards informed Jockey J Shankar that he was given the
benefit of the doubt and was notified to ride all his mounts out in a manner so as to
leave no room for query.
